I want to retrieve only numbers from the input string. We can implement it in many ways such as splitting the string into an array or by using TryParse method. I would like to share another idea, that’s by using Regular expressions. All you have to do is, create an instance of Regular Expression with a specified pattern for integer.   • Pixel Shader, YUV-RGB Conversion failing

    I am tasked with playing back a video hthat comes in in a YUV format as an overlay in a larger game. I am not a specialist in Direct3d, so I am struggling. I managed to get a shader working and am rendering 3 textures (Y, V, U). Sadly I am totally unable to get anything like a decent image. Documentation is also failing me. I am currently loading the different data planes (Y,V,U) in three different textures: m_Textures = new Texture[3]; // Y Plane m_Textures[0] = new Texture(m_Device, w, h, 1, Usage.None, Format.L8, Pool.Managed); // V Plane m_Textures[1] = new Texture(m_Device, w2, h2, 1, Usage.None, Format.L8, Pool.Managed); // U Plane m_Textures[2] = new Texture(m_Device, w2, h2, 1, Usage.None, Format.L8, Pool.Managed); When I am rendering them as R, G and B respectively with the following code: float4 Pixel( float2 texCoord: TEXCOORD0) : COLOR0 { float y = tex2D (ytexture, texCoord); float v = tex2D (vtexture, texCoord); float u = tex2D (utexture, texCoord); //R = Y + 1.140 (V -128) //G = Y - 0.395 (U-128) - 0.581 (V-128) //B = Y + 2.028 (U-128) float r = y; //y + 1.140 * v; float g = v; //y - 0.395 * u - 0.581 * v; float b = u; //y + 2.028 * u; float4 result; result.a = 255; result.r = r; //clamp (r, 0, 255); result.g = g; //clamp (g, 0, 255); result.b = b; //clamp (b, 0, 255); return result; } Then the resulting image is - quite funny. I can see the image, but colors are totally distorted, as it should be. The formula I should apply shows up in the comment of the pixel shader, but when I do it, the resulting image is pretty brutally magenta only. This gets me to the question - when I read out an L8 texture into a float, with float y = tex2D (ytexture, texCoord); what is the range of values? The "origin" values are 1 byte, 0 to 255, and the forum I have assumes this. Naturally I am totally off when the values returned are somehow normalized. My Clamp operation at the end also will fail if for example colors in a pixel shader are normalized 0 to 1. Anyone an idea how that works? Please point me also to documentation - I have not found anything in this regard.

As we all know, a base chat application need 4 base controls: one List control to show the chat room members, one List control to show the message list, one TextBox control to input messages and one button to send message. User inputs his message in the textbox first and then presses Send button, it will send the message to the server. The message list will update every 2 seconds to get the newest message list in the chat room from the server. We need to know, it is hard for us to make an AJAX web chat application like a windows form application because we cannot keep the connection after one web request ended. So a lot of events which communicates between client side and server side cannot be realized. The common workaround is to make web requests in every some seconds to check whether the server side has been updated. But another technique called COMET makes it possible. But it is different with AJAX and will not be talked in details in this KB. For more details about COMET, we can get some clues from the Reference.   CSASPNETCurrentOnlineUserList and VBASPNETCurrentOnlineUserList This sample demos a system that needs to display a list of current online users' information. As a matter of fact, Membership.GetNumberOfUsersOnline Method  can get the number of online users and there is a convenient approach to check whether the user is online by using Membership.GetUser(string userName).IsOnline property,however many asp.net projects are not using membership.So in this case,the sample shows how to display a list of current online users' information without using membership provider. It is not difficult to check whether the user is online by using session.Many projects tend to be used “Session_End” event to mark a user as “Offline”,however ,it may not be a good idea,because it can’t detect the user status accurately. In addition, "Session_End" event is only available in the "InProc" session mode. If you are storing session states in the State Server or SQL Server, "Session_End" event will never fire. To handle this issue, we need to save the user online status to a  global DataTable or  DataBase. This is the fourth part of the shell extension series: Preview Handler. The code samples demo the C++, C# and VB.NET implementation of a preview handler for a new file type registered with the .recipe extension. Preview handlers are called when an item is selected to show a lightweight, rich, read-only preview of the file's contents in the view's reading pane. This is done without launching the file's associated application. Windows Vista and later operating systems support preview handlers. To be a valid preview handler, several interfaces must be implemented.     Hi I would like to have a http POST request method CAPTURE filter I know it is easy to do it by display filter http.request.method==POST but I need tcpdump compatible I wrote tcp dst port 80 and (tcp[13] = 0x18) But it is not perfect... tcp dst port 80 and (tcp[((tcp[12:1] & 0xf0) 2):4] = 0x504f5354) works better, but... packages are not treated as a http packages, so I can not do my further display filters... and is there any way to not display frame, tcp, ip and http header information, only data-text-lines field value (content of POST)? or same thing in tcpdump, only dumping of POSTed html form content?

  • ASP.NET MVC localization DisplayNameAttribute alternatives: a good way

    The ASP.NET MVC HTML helper methods like .LabelFor and .EditorFor use model metadata to autogenerate labels for model properties. By default it uses the property name for the label text, but if that’s not appropriate, you can use a DisplayName attribute to specify the desired label text: [DisplayName("Remember me?")] public bool RememberMe { get; set; } I’m working on a multi-language web site, so the labels need to be localized. I tried pointing the DisplayName attribute to a resource string: [DisplayName(MyResource.RememberMe)] public bool RememberMe { get; set; } …but that results in the compiler error "An attribute argument must be a constant expression, typeof expression or array creation expression of an attribute parameter type”. I got around this by creating a custom LocalizedDisplayNameAttribute class that inherits from DisplayNameAttribute: 1: public class LocalizedDisplayNameAttribute : DisplayNameAttribute 2: { 3: public LocalizedDisplayNameAttribute(string resourceKey) 4: { 5: ResourceKey = resourceKey; 6: } 7:   8: public override string DisplayName 9: { 10: get 11: { 12: string displayName = MyResource.ResourceManager.GetString(ResourceKey); 13:   14: return string.IsNullOrEmpty(displayName) 15: ? string.Format("[[{0}]]", ResourceKey) 16: : displayName; 17: } 18: } 19:   20: private string ResourceKey { get; set; } 21: } Instead of a display string, it takes a constructor argument of a resource key.     I want to automoate some PPT - PDF conversions, so I want to run openoffice in headless mode for scripting. On my machine with X running I can start opemoffice in headless mode via soffice -accept="socket,port=8100;urp;" -headless This doesn't seem to work on a server with X not running. $ soffice -accept="socket,port=8100;urp;" -headless /usr/lib/openoffice/program/soffice.bin X11 error: Can't open display: Set DISPLAY environment variable, use -display option or check permissions of your X-Server (See "man X" resp. "man xhost" for details) $ The error doesnt seem to make sense as well, as the point of specifying -headless was so that I do not need X, while this command seems to look for X.

I started with the first pattern called the 'Strategy' pattern. I went through the problem outlined in the images below and first tried to propose a solution myself so I could really grasp the importance of the pattern.   • E_FAIL: An undetermined error occurred (-2147467259) when loading a cube texture

    I'm trying to implement a skybox into my engine, and I'm having some trouble loading the image as a cube map. Everything works (but it doesn't look right) if I don't load using an ImageLoadInformation struct in the ShaderResourceView.FromFile() method, but it breaks if I do. I need to, of course, because I need to tell SlimDX to load it as a cubemap. How can I fix this?   • Metro: Creating a Master/Detail View with a WinJS ListView Control

    The goal of this blog entry is to explain how you can create a simple master/detail view by using the WinJS ListView and Template controls. In particular, I explain how you can use a ListView control to display a list of movies and how you can use a Template control to display the details of the selected movie. Creating a master/detail view requires completing the following four steps: Create the data source – The data source contains the list of movies. Declare the ListView control – The ListView control displays the entire list of movies. It is the master part of the master/detail view. Declare the Details Template control – The Details Template control displays the details for the selected movie. It is the details part of the master/detail view. Handle the selectionchanged event – You handle the selectionchanged event to display the details for a movie when a new movie is selected. Creating the Data Source There is nothing special about our data source. If you want to display a vertical ListView, then you should select ListLayout. You must associate a ListView with an item template if you want to render anything interesting. The ListView above is associated with an item template named #masterItemTemplate. The iteminvoked event is raised when you click on a ListView item. The selectionchanged event is raised when one or more ListView items are selected. When you set the tapBehavior property of the ListView control to the value “directSelect” then tapping or clicking a list item raised both the iteminvoked and selectionchanged event. Tapping a list item causes the item to be selected and the item appears with a checkmark. In our code, we handle the selectionchanged event to update the movie details Template when you select a new movie.     I am trying to install another language support (in addition to the default US). Checking that language checkbox in "Install / Remove Languages..." wasn't too difficult. :) But now I want to add keyboard support, too, for that language. Again, I am prompted with a nice listbox with the following 4 options: none ibus lo-gtk th-gtk But I have no idea what these mean. I googled "ubuntu 10.04 keyboard input method system none ibus lo-gtk th-gtk" but all I could find was descriptions of problems, not an actual definition. Could you please point me to a webpage where I can learn about the meanings of these 4 different methods and +'s and -'s of each?

  • Is there any multi-touch graphics tablet with Linux drivers?

    After watching the absolutely amazing 10/GUI video, I have been dying to try to implement something like this. I can do the software side quite easily, but I don't have the hardware. The Wacom Bamboo Fun would work, but the Linux drivers don't support the multi-touch features. Microsoft's "UnMouse Pad" looks like the perfect solution, but it is not commercially available yet. Are there any similar devices that would work? Alternatively, is there a way to build a DIY version? (It is fairly easy to build a multi-touch display with a webcam and IR LEDs, but it would not be pressure sensitive. Does anyone have any info on how the UnMouse Pad works and if it is possible to build one?) EDIT: I should clarify that I don't want a multi-touch display. I want the sensor to be separate from the display. If that sounds crazy, watch the 10/GUI video.

  • Publish Static Content to WebLogic

    Most people know WebLogic has a built in web server. Typically this is not an issue as you deploy java applications and WebLogic publishes to the web. But what if you just want to display a simple static HTML page. In WebLogic you can develop a simple web application to display static HTML content. In this example I used WLS 10.3.3. I want to display 2 files, an HTML file, and an xsd for reference. Create a directory of your choice, this is what I will call the document root. mkdir /u01/oracle/doc_root Copy the static files to this directory  In the document root directory created in step 1 create the directory WEB-INF mkdir WEB-INF In the WEB-INF directory create a file called web.xml with the following content <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <!DOCTYPE web-app PUBLIC "-//Sun Microsystems, Inc.//DTD Web Application 2.3//EN" "http://java.sun.com/j2ee/dtds/web-app_2_3.dtd"> <web-app> </web-app> Login to the WebLogic console to deploy application Click on Deployments Click on Lock & Edit Click Install and set the path to the directory created in step 1 Leave default "Install this deployment as an application" and click Next Select a Managed Server to deploy to and click Next Accept the defaults and click Finish  Deployment completes successfully, now click the Activate Changes You should now see the application started in the deployments You can now access your static content via the following URL http://localhost:7001/doc_root/helloworld.html

  • Metro: Creating a Master/Detail View with a WinJS ListView Control

    The goal of this blog entry is to explain how you can create a simple master/detail view by using the WinJS ListView and Template controls. In particular, I explain how you can use a ListView control to display a list of movies and how you can use a Template control to display the details of the selected movie. Creating a master/detail view requires completing the following four steps: Create the data source – The data source contains the list of movies. Declare the ListView control – The ListView control displays the entire list of movies. It is the master part of the master/detail view. Declare the Details Template control – The Details Template control displays the details for the selected movie. It is the details part of the master/detail view. Handle the selectionchanged event – You handle the selectionchanged event to display the details for a movie when a new movie is selected. Creating the Data Source There is nothing special about our data source. Declaring the ListView Control The ListView control is declared with the following markup: <div id="movieList" data-win-control="WinJS.UI.ListView" data-win-options="{ itemDataSource: ListViewDemos.movies.dataSource, itemTemplate: select('#masterItemTemplate'), tapBehavior: 'directSelect', selectionMode: 'single', layout: { type: WinJS.UI.ListLayout } }"> </div> The data-win-options attribute is used to set the following properties of the ListView control: itemDataSource – The ListView is bound to the list of movies which we created in the previous section. Notice that the ListView is bound to ListViewDemos.movies.dataSource and not just ListViewDemos.movies. itemTemplate – The item template contains the template used for rendering each item in the ListView. The markup for this template is included below. tabBehavior – This enumeration determines what happens when you tap or click on an item in the ListView. The possible values are directSelect, toggleSelect, invokeOnly, none. Because we want to handle the selectionchanged event, we set tapBehavior to the value directSelect. selectionMode – This enumeration determines whether you can select multiple items or only a single item. The possible values are none, single, multi. In the code above, this property is set to the value single. layout – You can use ListLayout or GridLayout with a ListView. If you want to display a vertical ListView, then you should select ListLayout. You must associate a ListView with an item template if you want to render anything interesting. The ListView above is associated with an item template named #masterItemTemplate. Here’s the markup for the masterItemTemplate: <div id="masterItemTemplate" data-win-control="WinJS.Binding.Template"> <div class="movie"> <span data-win-bind="innerText:title"></span> </div> </div> This template simply renders the title of each movie. Declaring the Details Template Control The details part of the master/detail view is created with the help of a Template control. Here’s the markup used to declare the Details Template control: <div id="detailsTemplate" data-win-control="WinJS.Binding.Template"> <div> <div> Title: <span data-win-bind="innerText:title"></span> </div> <div> Director: <span data-win-bind="innerText:director"></span> </div> </div> </div> The Details Template control displays the movie title and director.   Handling the selectionchanged Event The ListView control can raise two types of events: the iteminvoked and selectionchanged events. The iteminvoked event is raised when you click on a ListView item. The selectionchanged event is raised when one or more ListView items are selected. When you set the tapBehavior property of the ListView control to the value “directSelect” then tapping or clicking a list item raised both the iteminvoked and selectionchanged event. Tapping a list item causes the item to be selected and the item appears with a checkmark. In our code, we handle the selectionchanged event to update the movie details Template when you select a new movie. The event handler first verifies that an item has been selected in the ListView (selection.count() > 0). Next, the details for the movie are rendered using the movie details Template (we created this Template in the previous section). The Complete Code For the sake of completeness, I’ve included the complete code for the master/detail view below. I’ve included both the default.html, default.js, and movies.js files.
