• Eager Loading more than 1 table in LinqtoSql

  When I've tried in Linq2Sql to load table with 2 child tables, I've noticed, that multiple SQLs are generated. I've found that  it isa known issue, if you try to specify more than one to pre-load it just  picks which one to pre-load and which others to leave deferred (simply ignoring those LoadWith hints)There are more explanations in http://codebetter.com/blogs/david.hayden/archive/2007/08/06/linq-to-sql-query-tuning-appears-to-break-down-in-more-advanced-scenarios.aspxThe reason the relationship in your blog post above is generating multiple queries is that you have two (1:n) relationship (Customers->Orders) and (Orders->OrderDetails). If you just had one (1:n) relationship (Customer->Orders) or (Orders->OrderDetails) LINQ to SQL would optimize and grab it in one query (using a JOIN).  The alternative -to use SQL and POCO classes-see http://stackoverflow.com/questions/238504/linq-to-sql-loading-child-entities-without-using-dataloadoptions?rq=1Fortunately the problem is not applicable to Entity Framework, that we want to use in future development instead of Linq2SqlProduct firstProduct = db.Product.Include("OrderDetail").Include("Supplier").First(); ?

• South Korea Upcoming Cap and Trade Legislation

  In my previous blogs I talked about climate change legislation trends in California, Australia and the European Union. In the next series of blogs, I am going to highlight how carbon trading and sustainability reporting legislation is evolving in other Asia Pacific countries, including South Korea, China, Japan, India and Taiwan - starting with South Korea. South Korea passed legislation to begin a national cap-and-trade program in May 2012. Korea is the 8th biggest source of GHG emissions in the world and has a national target of cutting them 30% by 2020. South Korea's program will cover about 60% of emissions and will affect big emitters across the economy, including utilities, major manufacturers and even large universities. Emissions trading is scheduled to begin in Korea in 2015, the same year as in Australia and China. • Installing drivers using DPInst

  You can use DPInst (Driver Package Installer) to install driver files for your device on Windows Operating Systems. DPInst.exe is part of DIFx (Driver Install Framework tools) which comes along with the Windows Driver Kit (WDK). You can find DPInst redistributable inside the redist\DIFx\DPInst folder of the WDK. Using DPInst to install driver: 1)  http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff553601(VS.85).aspx  2) http://blogs.technet.com/svengruenitz/archive/2008/07/02/driver-installation-and-updating-made-easy-dpinst-exe.aspx How to ? 1. Copy dpinst.exe to the folder where the driver files (sys, inf, dll) reside. 2. • Thoughts about MVC

  so i figured this one out, as a newcomer to the web development scene from the telecom biz, where we dealt with low level hardware API's, and a C++ fanboy, i tend to be bothered by automagical code, yes i appreciate the effort that went into it, and i certainly appreciate the luxury it provides to get more things done, but i just don't get it. so i decided to change that, and start investigating the new MVC based web apps, and at first it was like hitting a brick wall, i knew MVC from MFC days, so i'm familiar with the pattern, but i just couldn't get my head around the web version of it, till i came to realize the routing, is actually a separate feature to be inspected, much like understanding how LINQ works by better understanding anonymous objects. and so this article serve as an introduction to the following blogs where i share my views of how asp.net routing works, and then leverage that to the MVC level, and play around that field for a bit. as with most of my shared knowladge that may seem trivial to some, but i guess a newcomer's point of view can be useful for some folks out there.

The question is where do I find the incomnig links? One way I know is Google Blog Search, it can be used to find blogs with related information to your content and some allow to leave comments. The comments usually consist of your name, e-mail and website. If you put your keyword instead of your name, then the keyword turns into a link to your website. Unfortunately most blogs put rel=nofollow on such links, but some blogs don't do that. What other ways are there to find quality pages to put keywords links back to your website?   We have been getting hit very hard with comment spam as of late. As mentioned in the last post, this is something we typically deal with on a regular basis for the past 6 years, but some weeks are like this week where it is just crazy. Because of the way things are right now, I have disabled the ability to toggle on or off the CAPTCHA controls for comments. I know some bloggers are going to get mad, but we need to see if the lack of CAPTCHA on some blogs is the key cause of SPAM or if they are manually entering the data and filling in the CAPTCHA. I will report back on what we are seeing, but for a few weeks we are just going to require CAPTCHA controls on comments.This has been a public service announcement for Geekswithblogs.net :D Related Tags:

  I run a few blogs on topics like programming, linux tips and network security. I noticed the following: Till last year had only 1 blog that had posts on PHP, linux tips, network security etc. The AdSense RPM was around 1.00. Then I split the content into 3 separate blogs, one focused on web development/PHP/MySQL. second one focused on Linux/Windows how-tos and tips and third one focused on network security and related network topics. The Adsense RPM rose significantly for 2 blogs, and was 1.38 (PHP blog), 0.87 (tech tips blog) and 1.90 (network security blog). In the month of april 2013 the site on network security had the highest traffic and the Adsense income of that site was twice that of all three sites combined previously. My question is simple, does focusing on one topic lead to higher CPC/CPM?

• The Coming Storm of Blog Entries

I have realised that I have many many ideas and notes for blogs entries dotted around my desk, along with a number of half completed entries that I have been meaning to get sorted and finished and posted. I am hoping that over the next couple of weeks I will be able to get some of these online, including my experineces installing BizTalk 2009 on two different types of environment, some useful utilities I have used and also some notes on issues that I have encountered recently and not so recently when developing BizTalk solutions.
