    I'm building a simple site that allows users to post text content and I want to add it to a search index as it gets posted, so my site search is up to date. From what I can tell Lucene.NET is a good full text search framework. I've found very few examples of how to use it though. Can anyone post some good references for learning about Lucene?

  • Getting proper indentation using XMLBuilder in a helper

    I'm attempting to use a view helper to create some dynamic links based on if you're logged in or not. What I want returned, for sake of easy code readability, is: <ul class="right"> <li><a href="#">Login</a></li> <li><a href="#">Register</a></li> </ul> In the view helper I have this Ruby code: def loginh xm = Builder::XmlMarkup.new(:indent=>2, :margin=>4) xm.ul("class" => "right") { xm.li('class' => 'text') { xm.text("test") } } end In the view, the line that calls login helper is already indented 4 levels. Because of this, the first line gets 'skewed', so in the view I have: <%= loginh %> Which results in: <ul class="right"> <li class="text"> <text>test</text> </li> </ul> You can see it works perfectly, except for the first line. It would appear that the first line is affected by the indent before <%= loginh % is called. I can easily remedy this by removing the indentation prior to <%= loginh % - but in essence I'd be sacrificing code readability for markup readability. Which isn't what I'm looking to do. Is there any way I could remove the beginning whitespace?

    Hello, I'm trying to add an event listener to each icon on the map when it's pressed.     I have a layout 'profile' <div> <div> $this->action(action1, controller1, module1)<div> <div> $this->layout()->content </div> <div> $this->action(someotheraction, soController,soModule ); </div And the problem starts when I want to get the $request-Params() from the action1 , controller1 module1 , it is empty. I looked at the code of a helper Action , it does accept as a 4th parameter Params, but then I will have to set it somewhere in the layout - which is not good. Basically what are the recommendations of guru people that are pretty professional with zend Framework. Maybe I should do some work around or should change the concept of how I am injecting additional Controller(module) actions

  • Getting a users Facebook profile url

    I am creating a registry site so similar people can find each other easily. I don't want to use Facebook Connect as the primary log in method or use Facebook to store their information. I'll be creating a database on my end to store that info. For security reasons I won't be displaying the users address, phone number or email address so I wanted to provide the next best way for people to connect with each other, this is where Facebook comes in. Normally I would just ask them to type their Facebook URL in a text box but I don't think most people know what their url is which is why I think I need to use Facebook Connect. So here is my idea..when the users signs up there is a check box that when checked signifies they are allowing people to find them on Facebook. I assume once they click the register button that a Facebook Connect popup will show up asking for permission to access their Facebook account. When they "allow" it, then I can get their profile url. All I need is their Facebook profile url, I don't want any other Facebook features or information. Is Facebook Connect the best thing to use for this scenario? Is there an easier way? Several months ago on the Facebook Connect site their used to be examples of doing this, but all the documentation has been rearranged and changed and I can't seem to find the information. Any help you can provide would be great!

  • jcarousel not getting drawn inside a hidden div

    I am struggling since hrs on this one now. I am using a div to populate a ul/li list and then draw a jcarousel out of it. So this works fine $('#mycarousel').jcarousel(); everything works fine as expected... but here is the scenario. the div inside which I have ul/li items could be hidden by the click of another button. When the div is hidden, and I resize the browser window...the jcaraousel also attempts to redraw itself... but since it is hidden, it is not able to draw it properly. and everyting is jumbled up in the list (if I click the button again to make it visible)... but again if I resize the window now (the jumbled up jcarousel is NOT hidden now)... it redraws itself correctly... I was wondering to get hold of the jcarousel instance and reload itself as soon as the button is clicked to make the div visible (the way it resizes itself when it is visible and window is resized) to get hold of the jcarousel.. I am using JQuery('#mycarousel').data('jcarousel') and it is returned as null. Anybody has any idea on this one?

    When looking at the Contact Groups on Google Contacts or in the People application of my HTC Legend phone, I get the groups names ok eg: Friends, Family, VIP, Favorite etc... But in my application I get really wrong names such as "Family" became "System Group: Family" "Friends" became "System Group: Friends" "Favorite" became "Favorite_5656100000000_3245664334564" I use the below code to read these values: public Cursor getFromSystem() { // Get the base URI for the People table in the Contacts content // provider. In order to do this I need to know what character position in the text the click occurred at, so I can then locate nearby whitespace and insert some formatting around the word. Finding out where the click occurred within the text is the trick here. Is that kind of thing possible?

I'm using a 2.6 kernel, and the program is being run on a dual-core processor with realtime priority. I'm trying to disable cache effects by declaring the memory arrays as volatile.     How would I get returningResponse (into say, a NSString) from the following code: NSURLResponse* response; NSError* error; NSData* result = [NSURLConnection sendSynchronousRequest:theRequest returningResponse:&response error:&error]; I think I can get the info that I need into a string but I can't call anything on response because it's null. Therefore, I assume that I need to call something on result. The problem is, I don't know what to call. (The URL request has been coded prior to the code sample. I know that that works.) I want to be able to detect if the request as successful.

  • Getting an empty response when calling CouchDB over ajax

    I'm new to CouchDB, so please bear with me. I have an instance of CouchDB running on a VM. I can access it just fine through the browser via futon or directly at: http://192.168.62.128:5984/articles/hot_dog Calling that URL in a browser returns the proper JSON. But, when I try to call that exact same URL via ajax, I get nothing: var ajaxUrl = 'http://192.168.62.128:5984/articles/hot_dog'; $.getJSON(ajaxUrl, null, function(data) { alert(data); }); Looking at the response header with Firebug shows me that the HTTP response was 200 and the content-length is the right size. Even the Etag matches with what is in CouchDB. But the response itself is empty! The URL is absolutely right; I've triple checked, and copy/pasted it directly (and besides it wouldn't give a 200 response if it weren't). I'm using jQuery 1.4.2, and CouchDB 0.8 What's going on?

    I'm currently working on a project in which at one point, the user may right click a button which brings up a contextMenuStrip. I am already able to find the owner accurately from that strip, and manipulate the button clicked as follows: Dim myItem As ToolStripMenuItem = CType(sender, ToolStripMenuItem) Dim cms As ContextMenuStrip = CType(myItem.Owner, ContextMenuStrip) Dim buttonPressed As DataButton = DirectCast(cms.SourceControl, DataButton) But now for the tricky part. Within this contextmenuStrip, I have a DropDown menu with multiple items in there. I would assume you would be able to work your way up the ladder doing casts like above in the manner of ToolStripDrowpDownItem > ToolStripDropDownMenu > ToolStripMenuItem > ContextMenuStrip Unfortunately, when I try to get the sourcecontrol from this menuStrip, it return Nothing. Any ideas on how I can get the button that was pressed from this toolStripMenuItem?     Hey! I have a computer on a small network, so my ip is 192.168.2.100. I am trying to get my real ip. I download the no-ip client but that just seems like a lot of trouble for such a simple thing. I created this php script that got http://www.ip-adress.com/ page and retrieved the ip it gave me. Is there a simpler way? Either using C, WSH or something. Or if there is an easier way in php please tell me. When I get the ip I'll uploaded it to my ftp site so that I can see the ip from work.

However, when adding controls which themselves contain a scriptmanagerProxy we run into the problem that the newed up Page object doesn't contain either a ScriptManager or the HtmlForm in which the ScriptManager needs to run.   • Trouble getting Android emulator to run in eclipse

    Hi there, I'm new to Android and Eclipse. I'm Trying to run the SDK Samples on the Emulator in Eclipse 3.5 Most of the time the AVD Manager hangs when I try to create a new AVD. When I manage to create an AVD and try to start the emulator I get this: emulator: ERROR: no search paths found in this AVD's configuration weird, the AVD's config.ini file is malformed. Try re-creating it. I'm running the latest version of the SDK on Win7 32 bit. Any Ideas?

  • getting the mime of text files

    I am using a piece of code someone pasted for C# which uses urlmon.dll. It reads in <= 256bytes and returns the mime based on the data. Problem is it cant distinguishes a css file from a text/plain. I can goto /style.css but when including it in my html the CSS does not show up. I am using urlmon + context.Response.TransmitFile to send it.
