  • Storing SQL in MySQL: Insert as Text?

    Hey all, Working in a team environment, each one of us has put together our own list of SQL statements that we use to help with our day to day job functions. As the case often is, there may be some redundancy with this, and we are often in need of each other's statements. To circumvent this, I'm looking to put together a small app that can be used to store and search for these SQL statements. To begin with, I'm keeping it basic, just storing and searching the statements. This may build out to be the actual execution at some point in the future, but I'm not concerning myself with this at the time. This will be built with PHP and MySQL - Should I store the SQL as text, or is there something that I need to be concerned with?

  • Different characters take more/less data?

    I am working on a personal project and I'm wondering if certain characters take up more data in a text file than others. I need to choose a character to seperate items in my file, but if a 0 uses less bytes than a ! or something, it would be best to do that. I know all characters have an ASCII value, but would a lower ASCII value mean the character can be stored in fewer bytes? This might be an incredibly stupid question, but I don't see any information on the topic online so I came here to check. Thanks!

  • MySQL text field issues

    This is quite a noobish question, I have searched for a few hours now and I know this has to be simple. I am using XAMPP and I am trying to learn some more about using PHP and mySQL together. When I create the DB and the table for information to store, I tried insert info to the table and it stores it as a .dat file rather than text.   • get text from running application window (osx)

    Hi, I'm very very new to OSX/UNIX and i was wondering how i would go about getting a certain text from a application window. Explanation: App1 is running, it has a textfield with changing data. I start app2 and i want the data in the textfield from app1 available in app2. (i did not write app1 its a commercial app) I guess it should probably be done in c++ but any other solutions are welcome. If someone could help me in the right direction it would be much appreciated! Thx!

  • Is there a way to redirect ONLY stderr to stdout (not combine the two) so it can be piped to other programs

    I'm working in a Windows CMD.EXE environment and would like to change the output of stdout to match that of stderr so that I can pipe error messages to other programs without the intermediary of a file. I'm aware of the 2>&1 notation, but that combines stdout and stderr into a single stream. What I'm thinking of would be something like this: program.exe 2>&1 | find " " But that combines stdout and stderr just like: program.exe | find " " 2>&1 I realize that I could do... program 2>file type file | find " " del file But this does not have the flexibility and power of a program | find " " sort of notation. Doing this requires that program has finished with it's output before that output can be processed.

  • BufferedInputStream.read(byte[]) Causes problems. Anyone have this problem before?

    Hello! I've written a Java program that downloads audio files for me and I'm using BufferedInputStream. The read() function works fine but is really slow so I've tried using the overloaded version using byte[]. For some reason, the audio becomes lossy and strange after download. I'm not totally sure what I'm doing wrong so any help is appreciated! Here's the simplified, sloppy version of the code.     all! I'll try to be as detailed as possible in describing my predicament. I have a little background knowledge in Visual Basic, but none really in VBA or VBscript in Outlook 2010. I'm working with Outlook 2010. I created a custom form (this is my first time). I have a combo box named ComboBox1 and a text box named TextBox1. I am trying to auto-populate TextBox1 with a number based on the selection made from ComboBox1 (ex. I select Value 1 from ComboBox1 and TextBox1 populates with 124). I made an attempt using this code in the Visual Basic Editor (VBA version 7.0): Sub popBox() If ComboBox1 = "Value 1" Then TextBox1 = "124" End If End Sub My question is what am I doing wrong? Should I be using the VBscript editor, or is using VBA the proper thing to do? Is what I am asking even possible? Thank you all in advance!

    I have a text file of size 115MB. It consists of about 20 million words. I have to use the file as a word collection, and use it to search the occurrence of each user-given words from the collection. I am using this process as a small part in my project. I need a method for finding out the number of occurrence of given words in a faster and correct manner since i may use it in iterations. I am in need of suggestion about any API that i can make use or some other way that performs the task in a quicker manner. Any recommendations are appreciated.

  • PHP Undefined index - Occuring when the variable has a value in it

    I have the following code that is being used to successfully upload images: $fileName = $_FILES['file']['name']; $fileSize = $_FILES['file']['size']; $fileType = $_FILES['file']['type']; $fileTmp = $_FILES['file']['tmp_name']; list($origWidth, $origHeight) = getimagesize($fileTmp); The catch is I'm getting an 'Undefined index' on each line. I have print_r($_FILES) just before this code and each array variable exists and I've echo out varibles like $fileName and can see each has a value. Also I have put this before this code block and it makes no difference: $fileName = $fileSize = $fileType = $fileTmp = ''; Any suggestions how I can ensure these variables are defined? thankyou

  • sprintf and % signs in text

    A problem I recently ran into was that when trying to update a field in my database using this code would not work. I traced it back to having a % sign in the text being updated ($note, then $note_escaped)... Inserting it with sprintf worked fine though. Should I not be using sprintf for updates, or should it be formed differently?     I am working on an Android (v3.0) application that has a requirement of mimicking the weekly calendar layout found on Google Calendar: The events will be based on external requests through the Google Calendar API (I already have this part working). Using the API, I can obtain a list of events for the week, with each event having a starting and and ending datetime. Thus, whenever I would like to add an event that has a duration of 1.5 hours, I will make an 60dp button that I will place at the exact location that the time begins (12am = 0dp from the top, 1pm = 40dp from the top, 2pm = 80d from the top, etc). My questions are: Is there a better way of doing this? How can I convert my XML to be stand-alone view that could be added to any Android project? (I plan on perhaps making a blog post about the end product) Thank you!

    I am getting this: mget: filename.xlsx: file already existst and xfer:clobber is unset error when I try to download the contents of my ftp server. Basically it is setup using cygwin. We recently upgraded the server where all of the data is downloaded to on a set schedule. The old server was Windows server 2003, and the new server is windows server 2008. I am having issues when I try to download a file that is already in the folder. The client never changes the file name, so when we go to download it from the server we get that error. Is there anything i can put in the batch files, or something for it to just force it to replace that file? Thanks in advance

    I am working with a customer to troubleshoot an error they have when trying to overwrite/"PUT" a file to our SFTP site. When the root directory is empty and they try to upload the file there is no problem but when they try to overwrite an existing file this is when the error occurs. The error they receive when trying a put command in Java Caps is: The error is: Batch SFTP eWay error when doing data transfer operation in [PUT()], message=[EOF received from remote side [Unknown cause]].|#] When they use WinSCP or FileZilla to put the file it overwrites fine with no errors. We have tried: Multiple different files Checking their SFTP user permissions Gave full access permissions to "everyone" to the user's root directory in Windows Recreating their user account Ensured no other processes are using/locking the files that are being overwriten We are using Cerberus Professional FTP server software. Any ideas of what else we could try?

    I have a windows server 2008 R2 running a couple of sites for me, while developing i usually post updates to this server. Now, i tried posting an update but it failed said it has a file in use and the error msg is as follows: "The action can't be completed because the file is open in IIS Worker Process" "Close the file and try again." I have tried stopping the site but this does not help. The site is running in the same application pool as the site that should stay online so a recycle might be breaking the running site (If this is wrong, please correct me). Question is: Is there a way to "Release" the lock that is put on the file without stopping other currently running sites?

    I'm using Ubuntu 10.10 and installed the red5-server package. I've also downloaded oflaDemo.war file from that address. First I tried to install the oflaDemo via installer, but I couldnt reach the goal. I see the .war file under the /tmp directory, I got stuck with this message: "This may take a couple minutes, please wait". After that, I put the downloaded war file into the /webapps directory and wait 10 minutes as mentioned in red5-common.xml. Unfortunately, nothing changed ... So I decided to extract war file manually. I did this: jar -xvf oflaDemo.war Ok, I see all of the unzipped content under the webapps directory, but how can I preview the demo via a web browser? I really need to make live stream via Red5. Please help me.

However I didn't know how Sysprep worked before attempting this so it was a time-consuming nightmare (even after reviewing VMware vSphere ESXi 5's documentation)! I think I've figure out what I'm supposed to be doing, but it's still not working. The biggest problem at this point is that vSphere Client vCenter Customization Specification IP address information is not sticking when I load a Sysprep XML file with just 1 basic setting! This can only be a bug. Here is the process I'm using: PROCESS for Windows - vSphere Client Install Windows OS install VM Tools customize Windows (GPOs can be used to do this after deployment) install Applications (GPOs can be used to do this after deployment too) shutdown the VM convert the VM to a template create a custom Windows Sysprep XML answer file with desired customizations View Management Customization Specifications Manager create "New" Specification for "Target Virtual Machine OS" select Windows check "Use Custom Sysprep Answer File" (ADDS: Custom Sysprep File. KEEPS: Network (IP), Operating System Options (SID, Sysprep /generalize). Previously it has worked to use alien to convert this to .rpm and install it on Suse.     I have a web project(.Net4) that needs to access Excel file, but it ends up with the following error message: Error occured during file generation.Microsoft Excel cannot access the file 'D:\xx\xx\abc.xls'. There are several possible reasons: • The file name or path does not exist. (Actually it's there) • The file is being used by another program.(It cant happen) • The workbook you are trying to save has the same name as a currently open workbook. In IIS7, I use DefaultAppPool with the Identity "myservice" who's under the Group of Administrators. In the Authentication Page of my website under IIS, Anonymous Authentication was enabled and set to "Application pool identity" and ASP.NET Impersonation was disabled. After searching the solution for hours, I found the following but NONE of them work Create folder in C:\Windows\SysWOW64\config\systemprofile\Desktop. Plz refer:this Grant rights of "myservice" in Component Services. Plz refer:this One thing strange, there is nothing in the Group of IIS_IUSRS. Is that normal? Cause I remember at least two users (DefaultAppPool & Classic .Net AppPool). Plz tell me how to fix the access problem. I assume that's permission problem of IIS but I cant solve it. Thank you.
