  • Detect when a new property is added to a Javascript object?

    - by UICodes
A simple example using a built-in javascript object: navigator.my_new_property = "some value"; //can we detect that this new property was added? I don't want to constantly poll the object to check for new properties. Is there some type of higher level setter for objects instead of explicitly stating the property to monitor? Again, I don't want to detect if the property value changed, but rather when a new property is added. Ideas? thanks

  • A cross-platform application WPF, ASP.NET, Silverlight, WP7, XAML

    - by J. Lennon
Considering the fact that all applications will interact with the web project (which will use the cloud or web services).. Is there any way to share my class models between applications? If yes, what is the best way to do it? About sending / receiving data from the Webservice, serialize and deserialize, how can I do this in a simple way without having to manually populate the objects? Any information about this applications would be really helpful!

  • Marking up table joins in the Microstrategy project metadata with the architect tool?

    - by ConcernedOfTunbridgeWells
Hi, I am evaluating Microstrategy 9.0.1 and attempting to build a prototype metadata layer using its Architect tool. The tool doesn't seem to have any specific means to mark up joins in the way that the editing tools for SSRS data source views or Business Objects universes do. How does this work in Microstrategy - I have never used this before and may be making invalid assumptions based on other systems I have seen. If one does do this with MicroStrategy, how is it done?

  • Grails many to many using a third 'join' class

    - by andy mccullough
I read that a m:m relationship often means there is a third class that isn't yet required. So I have m:m on User and Project, and I created a third domain class, ProjectMembership The three domains are as follows (minimized for illustration purposes): User class User { String name static hasMany = [projectMemberships : ProjectMembership] } Project Membership class ProjectMembership { static constraints = { } static belongsTo = [user:User, project:Project] } Project: class Project { String name static hasMany = [projectMemberships : ProjectMembership] static constraints = { } } If I have the ID of the user, how can I get a list of Project objects that they are assigned to?

  • How to create dynamic number of output files with SSIS?

    - by JSacksteder
I will be creating flatfiles and based on the data in the batch, it might be necessary to split the data into an undetermined number of files. I can make the connection string dynamic with an expression, but that is only evaluated when the package starts. I'd like to change that expression to include a '-a' or '-b' in the filename. Alternately, if I have to create new connection manager objects at run time on demand, how do I go about that?

  • Unity 2.0 and policy injection in .config

    - by marcusoft.net
I want to use unity (2.0) to resolve my dependencies in a way so that i can configure policy injection (policies, matching rules and call handlers) in the .config file. Or an other way to put it; i want my resolved objects to be "policy enabled", so that i can add and change to policies in config without have to recompile. Any ideas on how to do that?

I have tried using the overflow=visible configuration but it doesnt seem to make a difference. Thanks in advance for any advice.

  • STL map - insert or update

    - by CodeJunkie
I have a map of objects and I want to update the object mapped to a key, or create a new object and insert into the map. The update is done by a different function that takes a pointer to the object (void update(MyClass *obj)) What is the best way to "insert or update" an element in a map?

  • Strategy for wiring up events?

    - by Jeffrey Cameron
I'm using Ninject (1.5 ... soon to be 2) and I'm curious how other people use Ninject or other IoC containers to help wire up events to objects? It seems to me in my code that I'm doing it herky-jerky all over the place and would love some advice on how to clean it up a bit. What are people doing out there to manage this?

  • is depth buffers mandatory

    - by numerical25
I am just trying to better understand the directX pipeline. Just curious if depth buffers are mandatory in order to get things work. Or is it just a buffer you need if you want objects to appear behind one another.

  • java swt design patterns

    - by zachary
What are some good design patterns for creating a form in java? I have an app that has 6 tabs with a different form in each. How does the typical java programmer go about making these items accessible? For example as a wpf programmer I might databind all these controls to underlying objects. What do java programmers like to do?

  • Zend_Registry: real life examples

    - by takeshin
Do you find Zend_Registry useful? For which tasks it should be used? For which not? Global state for variables is not a good practice. Main objects may have global state injected via $front->setParam('paramName', $object), so what's the purpose of Zend_Registry?.

  • Google App Engine: Update model definitons?

    - by Rosarch
I recently updated one of my models by adding a db.ListProperty(): class DependencyArcTail(db.Model): courses = db.ListProperty(db.Key) ''' newly added ''' forwardLinks = db.ListProperty(db.Key) However, I can't seem to get this to be reflected in the SDK dashboard. I cleared the datastore and reloaded it. Then I ran the procedures that create the DependencyArcTail objects. However, forwardLinks still doesn't show up as an attribute in the SDK dashboard. What's happening?

  • Using Variables for Class Names in Python?

    - by Sam McAfee
I want to know how to use variables for objects and function names in Python. In PHP, you can do this: $className = "MyClass"; $newObject = new $className(); How do you do this sort of thing in Python? Or, am I totally not appreciating some fundamental difference with Python, and if so, what is it?

Does anyone know why this is?
