  • Append an onClick event to an anchor tag using jquery?

    - by M.Woodard
    I am trying to add an onClick event to an anchor tag ... Previously i had ... <a href="somlink.html" onClick="pageTracker._link(this.href); return false;"> But i am trying to avoid the inline onClick event because it interferes with another script.. So using jQuery i am trying the following code ... <script> $(document).ready(function() { $('a#tracked').attr('onClick').click(function() {window.onbeforeunload = null; pageTracker._link(this.href); return false; }); }); </script> with the html like so <a id="tracked" href="something.html"> So my question is should this be working, and if not what would be the best solution?

  • What are these c++ statements doing

    - by codingguy3000
    void useproxynum ( ) { bUseProxy = true; return; }; void useacctnum ( ) { bUseProxy = false; return; }; Can anyone give me some insight into what these c++ statements are doing? There are in a header file. bUseProxy is defined above bool bUseProxy; I'm trying to figure out what useproxynum is (method call?) and I'm also trying to figure out how to find the code behind it. This is in Visual Studio 6.

  • Change macro in VisualStudio

    - by Vaccano
    The macro 'propdp' creates a dependency property like this: public int MyProperty { get { return (int)GetValue(MyPropertyProperty); } set { SetValue(MyPropertyProperty, value); } } // Using a DependencyProperty as the backing store for MyProperty. This enables animation, styling, binding, etc... public static readonly DependencyProperty MyPropertyProperty = DependencyProperty.Register("MyProperty", typeof(int), typeof(ownerclass), new UIPropertyMetadata(0)); I would like to change it a bit. To look like this: public int MyProperty { get { return (int)GetValue(MyPropertyProperty); } set { SetValue(MyPropertyProperty, value); } } public static readonly DependencyProperty MyPropertyProperty = DependencyProperty.Register("MyProperty", typeof(int), typeof(ownerclass), new UIPropertyMetadata(0)); Can this be done? Does anyone know where to change this?

  • how to get all the menu items below a certain parent in drupal?

    - by sprugman
    I really only need the mlid and title text for the first level below a certain menu item. Here's what I'm doing at the moment. (It works, but I suspect there may be a more drupal-y way.): /** * Get all the children menu items below 'Style Guide' and put them in this format: * $menu_items[mlid] = 'menu-title' * @return array */ function mymod_get_menu_items() { $tree = menu_tree_all_data('primary-links'); $branches = $tree['49952 Parent Item 579']['below']; // had to dig for that ugly key $menu_items = array(); foreach ($branches as $menu_item) { $menu_items[$menu_item['link']['mlid']] = $menu_item['link']['title']; } return $menu_items; } Is there?

  • In linux, is it possible to do partial reads on a regular file

    - by Jimm
    I need to write an application that spits out log entries to a regular file at a very fast rate. Also, there will be another process, that can read the same file concurrently at the time, other process would be writing to it. I have following questions How does read() determine EOF, specially in the case, where the underlying file could be concurrently being modified? Is it possible for read() to return partially written data from the other process write? For example, the write process wrote half a line and read would pick that half line and return? The application would be written in C on linux 2.6.x using Ex4 filesystem UPDATE: Below link points to the patch, that locks inode in EXT4, before reading and writing. http://patchwork.ozlabs.org/patch/91834/

  • How to discard const in c++

    - by Vincenzo
    This is what I'm trying to do and I can't: #include <string> using namespace std; class A { bool has() const { return get().length(); } string& get() { return s; } private: string s; }; The error I'm getting is: passing ‘const A’ as ‘this’ argument of ‘std::string& A::get()’ discards qualifiers I understand what the problem is, but how can I fix it? I really need has() to be const. Thanks.

  • Clojure: find repetition

    - by demi
    Let we have a list of integers: 1, 2, 5, 13, 6, 5, 7 and I want to find the first number has a duplicate before it and return a vector of two indices, In my sample, it's 5 at [2, 5]. What I did so far is loop, but can I do it more elegant, short way? (defn get-cycle [xs] (loop [[x & xs_rest] xs, indices {}, i 0] (if (nil? x) [0 i] ; Sequence is over before we found a duplicate. (if-let [x_index (indices x)] [x_index i] (recur xs_rest (assoc indices x i) (inc i)))))) No need to return number itself, because I can get it by index and, second, it may be not always there.

  • Getting Results from a Web SQL database

    - by andrew8088
    I'm playing around with the new Web SQL databases. Is there a way to return results from a SELECT statement? Here's my example: function getTasks (list) { db.transaction(function (tx) { list = list || 'inbox'; tx.executeSql("SELECT * FROM tasklist WHERE list = ?", [list], function (tx, results) { var retObj = [], i, len = results.rows.length; for ( i = 0; i < len; i++ ) { retObj[i] = results.rows.item(i); } return retObj; }); }); } The getTasks function is returning before the success callback does; is there a way to get the results out of the executeSql method, or do I have to do all the processing within the callback?

  • How do I filter values in a Django form using ModelForm?

    - by malandro95
    I am trying to use the ModelForm to add my data. It is working well, except that the ForeignKey dropdown list is showing all values and I only want it to display the values that a pertinent for the logged in user. Here is my model for ExcludedDate, the record I want to add: class ExcludedDate(models.Model): date = models.DateTimeField() reason = models.CharField(max_length=50) user = models.ForeignKey(User) category = models.ForeignKey(Category) recurring = models.ForeignKey(RecurringExclusion) def __unicode__(self): return self.reason Here is the model for the category, which is the table containing the relationship that I'd like to limit by user: class Category(models.Model): name = models.CharField(max_length=50) user = models.ForeignKey(User, unique=False) def __unicode__(self): return self.name And finally, the form code: class ExcludedDateForm(ModelForm): class Meta: model = models.ExcludedDate exclude = ('user', 'recurring',) How do I get the form to display only the subset of categories where category.user equals the logged in user?

  • Inconsistent behaviour from SDL_BlitSurface

    - by bardes
    Here is an example code: #include <SDL/SDL.h> #include <SDL/SDL_image.h> #include <stdio.h> int main() { if(SDL_Init(SDL_INIT_EVERYTHING) == -1) { printf("SDL ERROR: %s", SDL_GetError()); return 1; } SDL_Surface *screen; screen = SDL_SetVideoMode(128, 128, 32, SDL_SWSURFACE); SDL_Surface *img; img = IMG_Load("./debug.png"); SDL_BlitSurface(img, NULL, screen, NULL); SDL_Flip(screen); SDL_Delay(1000); SDL_FreeSurface(img); SDL_Quit(); return 0; } It compiles fine, but when I run it sometimes it works and most times only part of the image is displayed. I really can't imagine what's causing that... EDIT: This is the image I'm using to test the program: http://img140.imageshack.us/img140/3858/debugi.png

Does somebody know why?

  • class T in c++ (your definition)

    - by JohnWong
    The one advantage of using class T in c++ is to reduce the time to redefine data types in a function, if those data types are defined in other function, for example, in int main. template <class T> void showabs(T number) { if (number < 0 ) number = -number; cout << number << endl; return 0; } int main() { int num1 = -4; float num2 = -4.23f; showabs(num1); showabs(num2); return 0; } So in this case, without class T, for each data type, we have to add its corresponding data-type condition, that is, another set of if statement for int, and another one for float. Am I correct?

  • Efficient implementation of exclusive execution

    - by n0weak
    I have an ObjectManager class that is used to process payments. It is wrapped over the Order entities, so new instance has to be created when processing is required. I need to prevent the situation when several ObjectManager instances are dealing with the same order simultaneously (it happend once because of some errors on the remote payment processing center, somehow they called our callback urls twice). I'd love to get an advice how to implement it more efficiently. For now, I am thinking about something like that: public class OrderManager{ private static final CopyOnWriteArrayList<Integer> LOCKER = new CopyOnWriteArrayList<Integer>(); private static synchronized boolean tryLock(Integer key) { return LOCKER.addIfAbsent(key); } private static void releaseLock(Integer key) { LOCKER.remove(key); } public void processPayment(Integer orderId) throws Exception{ if (!tryLock(orderId)) { return; } try { //operate } finally { releaseLock(orderId); } } //remainder omitted }

  • Validate NSString

    - by Chris
    I am validating an NSString to ensure that the string does not contain apostrophes. The code I'm using to do this is NSCharacterSet * invalidNumberSet = [NSCharacterSet characterSetWithCharactersInString:@"'"]; NSScanner * scanner = [NSScanner scannerWithString:string]; NSString * scannerResult; [scanner setCharactersToBeSkipped:nil]; [scanner scanUpToCharactersFromSet:invalidNumberSet intoString:&scannerResult]; if(![string isEqualToString:scannerResult]) { return 2; } Returning 2 represents an error. This code works, except for the case where the string is an apostrophe. To get around this issue, I added the following code above the preceding block. if([string isEqualToString:@"'"]); { return 2; } This code is evaluating to true, regardless of the input. I need to either prevent the first block from crashing with the input of ', or get the second block to work. What am I missing?

  • function declaration

    - by robUK
    Hello, gcc 4.1.2 c89 I am reviewing some code and I have come across the following function. I have never seen a function declared like this before. There are no data types for the paraemeters. My best guess is that the function is using a list of data types separated by semi-colons. The return type seems to be returning a function with those parameters. However, the read function is not defined anywhere. What is the advantage and purpose of declaring a function like this? Many thanks for any advice, int my_read(fd, ptr, cnt) int fd; char *ptr; unsigned cnt; { printf("Read\n"); return(read(fd, ptr, cnt)); }

  • OverRiding Help

    - by user445714
    Few questions on over riding. I am interiting a method openRead from another class, the method is to be overridden so that the scanner class uses the provided delimiter pattern, which is referenced. I need to make use of the scanner class useDelmiter method method from another class [code] public boolean openRead() throws FileNotFoundException { sc = new Scanner(new File(fileName)); if (fileName != null) { return true; } else { return false; } } [/code] delimiter [code] protected final String DELIMITERS = "[\s[^'a-zA-Z]]"; [/code] I'm at a loss to how i over ride this using the constant delimiter.

  • How to sort a hash by value in descending order and output a hash in ruby?

    - by tipsywacky
    output.sort_by {|k, v| v}.reverse and for keys h = {"a"=>1, "c"=>3, "b"=>2, "d"=>4} => {"a"=>1, "c"=>3, "b"=>2, "d"=>4} Hash[h.sort] Right now I have these two. But I'm trying to sort hash in descending order by value so that it will return => {"d"=>4, "c"=>3, "b"=>2, "a"=>1 } Thanks in advance. Edit: let me post the whole code. def count_words(str) # YOUR CODE HERE output = Hash.new(0) sentence = str.gsub(/,/, "").gsub(/'/,"").gsub(/-/, "").downcase words = sentence.split() words.each do |item| output[item] += 1 end puts Hash[output.sort_by{ |_, v| -v }] return Hash[output.sort_by{|k, v| v}.reverse] end
