  • junit test error - ClassCastException

    - by Josepth Vodary
    When trying to run a junit test I get the following error - java.lang.ClassCastException: business.Factory cannot be cast to services.itemservice.IItemsService at business.ItemManager.get(ItemManager.java:56) at business.ItemMgrTest.testGet(ItemMgrTest.java:49) The specific test that is causing the problem is @Test public void testGet() { Assert.assertTrue(itemmgr.get(items)); } The code it is testing is... public boolean get(Items item) { boolean gotItems = false; Factory factory = Factory.getInstance(); @SuppressWarnings("static-access") IItemsService getItem = (IItemsService)factory.getInstance(); try { getItem.getItems("pens", 15, "red", "gel"); gotItems = true; } catch (ItemNotFoundException e) { // catch e.printStackTrace(); System.out.println("Error - Item Not Found"); } return gotItems; } The test to store items, which is nearly identical, works just fine... The factory class is.. public class Factory { private Factory() {} private static Factory Factory = new Factory(); public static Factory getInstance() {return Factory;} public static IService getService(String serviceName) throws ServiceLoadException { try { Class<?> c = Class.forName(getImplName(serviceName)); return (IService)c.newInstance(); } catch (Exception e) { throw new ServiceLoadException(serviceName + "not loaded"); } } private static String getImplName (String serviceName) throws Exception { java.util.Properties props = new java.util.Properties(); java.io.FileInputStream fis = new java.io.FileInputStream("config\\application.properties"); props.load(fis); fis.close(); return props.getProperty(serviceName); } }

  • The cross-thread usage of "HttpContext.Current" property and related things

    - by smwikipedia
    I read from < Essential ASP.NET with Examples in C# the following statement: Another useful property to know about is the static Current property of the HttpContext class. This property always points to the current instance of the HttpContext class for the request being serviced. This can be convenient if you are writing helper classes that will be used from pages or other pipeline classes and may need to access the context for whatever reason. By using the static Current property to retrieve the context, you can avoid passing a reference to it to helper classes. For example, the class shown in Listing 4-1 uses the Current property of the context to access the QueryString and print something to the current response buffer. Note that for this static property to be correctly initialized, the caller must be executing on the original request thread, so if you have spawned additional threads to perform work during a request, you must take care to provide access to the context class yourself. I am wondering about the root cause of the bold part, and one thing leads to another, here is my thoughts: We know that a process can have multiple threads. Each of these threads have their own stacks, respectively. These threads also have access to a shared memory area, the heap. The stack then, as I understand it, is kind of where all the context for that thread is stored. For a thread to access something in the heap it must use a pointer, and the pointer is stored on its stack. So when we make some cross-thread calls, we must make sure that all the necessary context info is passed from the caller thread's stack to the callee thread's stack. But I am not quite sure if I made any mistake. Any comments will be deeply appreciated. Thanks. ADD Here the stack is limited to user stack.

  • Hibernate many-to-many relationship

    - by Capitan
    I have two mapped types, related many-to-many. @Entity @Table(name = "students") public class Student{ ... @ManyToMany(fetch = FetchType.EAGER) @JoinTable( name = "students2courses", joinColumns = { @JoinColumn( name = "student_id", referencedColumnName = "_id") }, inverseJoinColumns = { @JoinColumn( name = "course_id", referencedColumnName = "_id") }) public Set<Course> getCourses() { return courses; } public void setCourses(Set<Course> courses) { this.courses = courses; } ... } __ @Entity @Table(name = "courses") public class Course{ ... @ManyToMany(fetch = FetchType.EAGER, mappedBy = "courses") public Set<Student> getStudents() { return students; } public void setStudents(Set<Student> students) { this.students = students; } ... } But if I update/delete Course entity, records are not created/deleted in table students2courses. (with Student entity updating/deleting goes as expected) I wrote abstract class HibObject public abstract class HibObject { public String getRemoveMTMQuery() { return null; } } which is inherited by Student and Course. In DAO I added this code (for delete() method): String query = obj.getRemoveMTMQuery(); if (query != null) { session.createSQLQuery(query).executeUpdate(); } and I ovrerided method getRemoveMTMQuery() for Course @Override @Transient public String getRemoveMTMQuery() { return "delete from students2courses where course_id = " + id + ";"; } Now it works but I think it's a bad code. Is there a best way to solve this problem?

  • Error while setting UserAcces permission for WebForms?

    - by ksg
    I've created a class named BaseClass.cs and I've written a function in its constructor. Here's how it looks public class BasePage:Page { public BasePage() { setUserPermission(); } private void setUserPermission() { String strPathAndQuery = HttpContext.Current.Request.Url.PathAndQuery; string strulr = strPathAndQuery.Replace("/SGERP/", "../"); Session["Url"] = strulr; GEN_FORMS clsForm = new GEN_FORMS(); clsForm.Form_Logical_Name = Session["Url"].ToString(); clsForm.User_ID = Convert.ToInt32(Session["User_ID"]); DataSet dsPermission = clsForm.RETREIVE_BUTTON_PERMISSIONS(); if (dsPermission.Tables.Count > 0) { if (dsPermission.Tables[1].Rows.Count > 0) { Can_Add = Convert.ToBoolean(dsPermission.Tables[1].Rows[0]["Can_Add"].ToString()); Can_Delete = Convert.ToBoolean(dsPermission.Tables[1].Rows[0]["Can_Delete"].ToString()); Can_Edit = Convert.ToBoolean(dsPermission.Tables[1].Rows[0]["Can_Edit"].ToString()); Can_Print = Convert.ToBoolean(dsPermission.Tables[1].Rows[0]["Can_Print"].ToString()); Can_View = Convert.ToBoolean(dsPermission.Tables[1].Rows[0]["Can_Print"].ToString()); } } } } I've inherited this class on my webform so that when the page loads, the setUserPermission function is executed. My webpage looks like this public partial class Setting_CompanyDetails : BasePage My problem is that I cannot access Session["Url"] in my BasePage. I'm getting the following error Session state can only be used when enableSessionState is set to true, either in a configuration file or in the Page directive. Please also make sure that System.Web.SessionStateModule or a custom session state module is included in the <configuration>\<system.web>\<httpModules> section in the application configuration. How can I solve this issue? Is this the right way to set UserPermission access?

  • C++ const qualifier

    - by avd
    I have a Point2D class as follows: class Point2D{ int x; int y; public: Point2D(int inX, int inY){ x = inX; y = inY; }; int getX(){return x;}; int getY(){return y;}; }; Now I have defined a class Line as: class Line { Point2D p1,p2; public: LineVector(const Point2D &p1,const Point2D &p2):p1(p1),p2(p2) { int x1,y1,x2,y2; x1=p1.getX();y1=p1.getY();x2=p2.getX();y2=p2.getY(); } }; Now the compiler gives the error in the last line( where getX() etc are called): error: passing `const Point2D' as `this' argument of `int Point2D::getX()' discards qualifiers If I remove the const keyword at both places, then it compiles successfully. What is the error? Is it because getX() etc are defined inline? Is there any way to recify this retaining them inline?

  • Flash Builder 4 "includeIn" property causing design view error

    - by Chris
    I am creating a custom TextInput component that will define an "error" state. I have extended the TextInput class to change the state to "error" if the errorString property's length is greater than 0. In the skin class, I have defined an "error" state, and added some logic to detect the size and position of the error icon. However, if I have this code at the same time I use the "includeIn" property in the bitmap image tag, I get a design view error. If I either A) Only include that code with no "includeIn" property set, it works or B) dont include the code to set the icon size and position and only use the "includeIn" property, it works. Any ideas what could be causing the design view problem when I use both the "includeIn" property and the icon size/position code at the same time? TextInput Class: package classes { import spark.components.TextInput; public class TextInput extends spark.components.TextInput { [SkinState("error")]; public function TextInput() { super(); } override public function set errorString( value:String ):void { super.errorString = value; invalidateSkinState(); } override protected function getCurrentSkinState():String { if (errorString.length>0) { return "error"; } return super.getCurrentSkinState(); } } } TextInput Skin File: override protected function updateDisplayList(unscaledWidth:Number, unscaledHeight:Number):void { //THIS IS THE CODE THAT SEEMS TO BE CAUSING THE PROBLEM if(getStyle("iconSize") == "large") { errorIcon.right = -12; errorIcon.source = new errorIconLg(); } else { errorIcon.right = -5; errorIcon.source = new errorIconSm(); } super.updateDisplayList(unscaledWidth, unscaledHeight); } </fx:Script> <s:states> <s:State name="normal"/> <s:State name="disabled"/> <s:State name="error"/> </s:states> //If I remove the problem code above or if I take out the includeIn //property here, it works <s:BitmapImage id="errorIcon" verticalCenter="0" includeIn="error" /> </s:SparkSkin>

  • C++ - Creating a god object

    - by Greg Kritzman
    Hypothetical situation that I'm struggling to get my head past. HoldsFooBar.h: #include "foo.h" #include "bar.h" class HoldsFooBar{ foo F; bar B; }; foo.h: //includes? class foo{ HoldsFooBar *H; void Baz(); }; bar.h: //includes? class bar{ HoldsFooBar *H; void Qux(); }; I'm trying to get F to get a hold of B. In all other languages I've worked with, I would be able to H->B.Qux();, but I'm totally lost in C++. At the includes lines in foo.h and bar.h, it seems like my options are to forward-declare class HoldsFooBar; but then I can only access H, and F and B cannot see each other. Likewise, I can #include "HoldsFooBar.h" but because of my include guards, something ends up not getting linked properly, so the program doesn't run. Is what I'm trying to do even possible? Thank you very much! Any help would be appreciated!

  • Rails active record association problem

    - by Harm de Wit
    Hello, I'm new at active record association in rails so i don't know how to solve the following problem: I have a tables called 'meetings' and 'users'. I have correctly associated these two together by making a table 'participants' and set the following association statements: class Meeting < ActiveRecord::Base has_many :participants, :dependent => :destroy has_many :users, :through => :participants and class Participant < ActiveRecord::Base belongs_to :meeting belongs_to :user and the last model class User < ActiveRecord::Base has_many :participants, :dependent => :destroy At this point all is going well and i can access the user values of attending participants of a specific meeting by calling @meeting.users in the normal meetingshow.html.erb view. Now i want to make connections between these participants. Therefore i made a model called 'connections' and created the columns of 'meeting_id', 'user_id' and 'connected_user_id'. So these connections are kinda like friendships within a certain meeting. My question is: How can i set the model associations so i can easily control these connections? I would like to see a solution where i could use @meeting.users.each do |user| user.connections.each do |c| <do something> end end I tried this by changing the model of meetings to this: class Meeting < ActiveRecord::Base has_many :participants, :dependent => :destroy has_many :users, :through => :participants has_many :connections, :dependent => :destroy has_many :participating_user_connections, :through => :connections, :source => :user Please, does anyone have a solution/tip how to solve this the rails way?

  • How do I code a tree of objects in Haskell with pointers to parent and children?

    - by axilmar
    I've got the following problem: I have a tree of objects of different classes where an action in the child class invalidates the parent. In imperative languages, it is trivial to do. For example, in Java: public class A { private List<B> m_children = new LinkedList<B>(); private boolean m_valid = true; public void invalidate() { m_valid = false; } public void addChild(B child) { m_children.add(child); child.m_parent = this; } } public class B { public A m_parent = null; private int m_data = 0; public void setData(int data) { m_data = 0; m_parent.invalidate(); } } public class Main { public static void main(String[] args) { A a = new A(); B b = new B(); b.setData(0); //invalidates A } } How do I do the above in Haskell? I cannot wrap my mind around this, since once I construct an object in Haskell, it cannot be changed. I would be much obliged if the relevant Haskell code is posted.

  • VB.NET: WithEvents not Working

I would apreciate any input about this problem thank you

  • Location of DB models in Zend Framework - want them centralized

    - by jeffkolez
    Maybe I've been staring at the problem too long and it's much simpler than I think, but I'm stuck right now. I have three websites that are going to share database models. I've structured my applications so that I have an application directory for each site and a public directory for each site. The DB models live in a directory in the library along with Zend Framework and my third party libraries. I use the Autoloader class and when I try to instantiate one of my DB classes, it fails. The library directory is in my include path, but for whatever reason it refuses to instantiate my classes. It will work if I have my models in my application directory, but that's not the point. They're supposed to be shared classes in a Library. $model = new Model_Login(); $model->hello_world(); This fails when its in the library. The class is just a test: class Model_Login { public function hello_world() { echo "hello world"; } } Everything works until I try to instantiate one of my models. I've even tried renaming the class to something else (Db_Login), but that doesn't work either. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

  • Div Container Cleanup?

    - by Nto
    Just wondering if its possible to cleanup (less code needed to do the same thing) making this div container. Basically it's just a div with a background image however the top & bottom of the div have rounded graphical corners which is why I have a top, middle, and bottom div inside the container div. <div class="fbox"> <div class="ftop"></div> <div class="fmid"> Fullbox Text Goes Here </div> <div class="fbot"></div> </div> Css: .fbox { width: 934px; margin: 0 auto; opacity: 0.70; } .ftop { width: 934px; background:url(../images/cb/full.png) no-repeat 0 -34px; height: 17px; margin:0 } .fmid { width: 894px; padding-left: 20px; padding-right: 20px; background:url(../images/cb/fullmid.png) repeat-y; min-height: 50px; margin:0 } .fbot { width: 934px; background:url(../images/cb/full.png) no-repeat 0 -17px; height: 17px; margin:0 } Outcome: http://img709.imageshack.us/img709/6681/fbox.jpg

  • Page does update with details from the database after i hit a button

    - by swathi
    I have a code and the way it should work is,when they click on NEW CUSTOMER,it takes them to test1.php where in they enter the details and they hit submit.it saves all the details in properly in the database and when i go back and hit REFRESH ,it should come up with the customer details which they had entered in previously. But what happens is, when i click on the REFRESH,it refreshes the same old page which is empty.I wanted to find out where am i missing the logic.Thanks in advance. The sample code would be <tr> <td class="tdvisitbig" colspan="5">THIS IS A TEST</td> </tr> <tr> <td class='tdvisitbig' colspan="5"><input type="button" onClick="openVisit('test1.php?id=<?=$key?>&name=<?=$name?>');return false;" value="NEW CUSTOMER" class="submit">&nbsp;<input type="button" value="REFRESH" name="add_xyz" class="submit" onClick="document.add.target='_self';document.add.action='test3.php?redirect=visit&section=test page';document.add.submit();"></td> </tr> <? $q = "SELECT address,customernum,status FROM customer WHERE name='$name' ORDER BY customernum"; $r = mysql_query( $q , $Link ); while( $rw = mysql_fetch_assoc( $r ) ) { extract( $rw ); ?> <tr> <? } ?>

  • Using overloaded operator== in a generic function

    - by Dimitri C.
    Consider the following code: class CustomClass { public CustomClass(string value) { m_value = value; } public static bool operator==(CustomClass a, CustomClass b) { return a.m_value == b.m_value; } public static bool operator!=(CustomClass a, CustomClass b) { return a.m_value != b.m_value; } public override bool Equals(object o) { return m_value == (o as CustomClass).m_value; } public override int GetHashCode() { return 0; /* not needed */ } string m_value; } class G { public static bool enericFunction1<T>(T a1, T a2) where T : class { return a1.Equals(a2); } public static bool enericFunction2<T>(T a1, T a2) where T : class { return a1==a2; } } Now when I call both generic functions, one succeeds and one fails: var a = new CustomClass("same value"); var b = new CustomClass("same value"); Debug.Assert(G.enericFunction1(a, b)); // Succeeds Debug.Assert(G.enericFunction2(a, b)); // Fails Apparently, G.enericFunction2 executes the default operator== implementation instead of my override. Can anybody explain why this happens?

  • How to determine if a C++ usertype has been registered with tolua

    - by czuger
    We use tolua++ to generate Lua bindings for C++ classes. Assume I have a C++ class: class Foo { //Some methods in Foo, irrelevant to question. }; and a tolua .pkg file with the following contents class Foo { }; Consider the following function: void call_some_lua_function(lua_State* luaState) { Foo* myFoo = new Foo(); tolua_pushusertype(luaState, (void*)myFoo, "Foo"); //More code to actually call Lua, irrelevant to question. } Now, the actual question: tolua_pushusertype causes a segfault in Lua if the 3rd parameter does not correspond to a valid fully qualified string of a C++ class that was registered with a call to tolua_cclass. So, if parameter 3 where "Bar", we get a segfault. What I would like to do is the following: void call_some_lua_function(lua_State* luaState) { //determine if tolua is aware of my type, how to do this? //Something like: //if(!tolua_iscpptype_registered("Foo")) //{ // abort gracefully //} Foo* myFoo = new Foo(); tolua_pushusertype(luaState, (void*)myFoo, "Foo"); //More code to actually call Lua, irrelevant to question. } Is there a way to do this using tolua?

  • finding specific immediate children of an element using prototype

    - by tatilans
    Following DOM structure: <ul> <li class="item">yes</li> <li>no</li> <li class="item">yes</li> <li> <ul> <li class="item">no</li> </ul> </li> </ul> Assuming I have the outer <ul> in $ul. How do I get the two immediate children which have the item-class? In jQuery I would write something like this: $ul.children().filter(".item") $ul.children(".item") $ul.find("> .item") How do I to this with Prototype? I tried the following ... $ul.select("> .item") //WRONG ... but it does does exactly the opposite and returns the one inner <li>

  • jquery next siblings

    - by Contra
    Hi stackoverflow! (first post!) Ive been trying to get this problem solved, but I cant seem to figure it out without some serious workarounds. if I have the following html code: <ul> <li class="parent"> headertext </li> <li> text </li> <li> text </li> <li> text </li> <li class="parent"> headertext </li> <li> text </li> <li> text </li> </ul> Now, how do I now just select the li's following the first parent (or second, for that matter)? Basically selecting an li with class=parent and the following siblings until it reaches another li with the parent class. I could restructure the list with nested lists, but I dont want to do that. Any suggestions?

  • A self-creator: What pattern is this? php

    - by user151841
    I have several classes that are basically interfaces to database rows. Since the class assumes that a row already exists ( __construct expects a field value ), there is a public static function that allows creation of the row and returns an instance of the class. Here's a pseudo-code example : class fruit { public $id; public function __construct( $id ) { $this->id = $id; $sql = "SELECT * FROM Fruits WHERE id = $id"; ... $this->arrFieldValues[$field] = $row[$value]; } public function __get( $var ) { return $this->arrFieldValues[$var]; } public function __set( $var, $val ) { $sql = "UPDATE fruits SET $var = $val WHERE id = $this->id"; } public static function create( $id ) { $sql = "INSERT INTO Fruits ( fruit_name ) VALUE ( '$fruit' )"; $id = mysql_insert_id(); $fruit = & new fruit($id); return $fruit; } } $obj1 = fruit::create( "apple" ); $obj2 = & new fruit( 12 ); What is this pattern called? Edit: I changed the example to one that has more database-interface functionality. For most of the time, this kind of class would be instantiated normally, through __construct(). But sometimes when you need to create a new row first, you would call create().

  • Ninject: Singleton binding syntax?

    - by Rosarch
    I'm using Ninject 2.0 for the .Net 3.5 framework. I'm having difficulty with singleton binding. I have a class UserInputReader which implements IInputReader. I only want one instance of this class to ever be created. public class MasterEngineModule : NinjectModule { public override void Load() { // using this line and not the other two makes it work //Bind<IInputReader>().ToMethod(context => new UserInputReader(Constants.DEFAULT_KEY_MAPPING)); Bind<IInputReader>().To<UserInputReader>(); Bind<UserInputReader>().ToSelf().InSingletonScope(); } } static void Main(string[] args) { IKernel ninject = new StandardKernel(new MasterEngineModule()); MasterEngine game = ninject.Get<MasterEngine>(); game.Run(); } public sealed class UserInputReader : IInputReader { public static readonly IInputReader Instance = new UserInputReader(Constants.DEFAULT_KEY_MAPPING); // ... public UserInputReader(IDictionary<ActionInputType, Keys> keyMapping) { this.keyMapping = keyMapping; } } If I make that constructor private, it breaks. What am I doing wrong here?

  • How can I bind the same dependency to many dependents in Ninject?

    - by Mike Bantegui
    Let's I have three interfaces: IFoo, IBar, IBaz. I also have the classes Foo, Bar, and Baz that are the respective implementations. In the implementations, each depends on the interface IContainer. So for the Foo (and similarly for Bar and Baz) the implementation might read: class Foo : IFoo { private readonly IDependency Dependency; public Foo(IDependency dependency) { Dependency = dependency; } public void Execute() { Console.WriteLine("I'm using {0}", Dependency.Name); } } Let's furthermore say I have a class Container which happens to contain instances of the IFoo, IBar and IBaz: class Container : IContainer { private readonly IFoo _Foo; private readonly IBar _Bar; private readonly IBaz _Baz; public Container(IFoo foo, IBar bar, IBaz baz) { _Foo = foo; _Bar = bar; _Baz = baz; } } In this scenario, I would like the implementation class Container to bind against IContainer with the constraint that the IDependency that gets injected into IFoo, IBar, and IBaz be the same for all three. In the manual way, I might implement it as: IDependency dependency = new Dependency(); IFoo foo = new Foo(dependency); IBar bar = new Bar(dependency); IBaz baz = new Baz(dependency); IContainer container = new Container(foo, bar, baz); How can I achieve this within Ninject? Note: I am not asking how to do nested dependencies. My question is how I can guarantee that a given dependency is the same among a collection of objects within a materialized service. To be extremely explicit, I understand that Ninject in it's standard form will generate code that is equivalent to the following: IContainer container = new Container(new Foo(new Dependency()), new Bar(new Dependency()), new Baz(new Dependency())); I would not like that behavior.

  • Which way of declaring a variable is fastest?

    - by ADB
    For a variable used in a function that is called very often and for implementation in J2ME on a blackberry (if that changed something, can you explain)? class X { int i; public void someFunc(int j) { i = 0; while( i < j ){ [...] i++; } } } or class X { static int i; public void someFunc(int j) { i = 0; while( i < j ){ [...] i++; } } } or class X { public void someFunc(int j) { int i = 0; while( i < j ){ [...] i++; } } } I know there is a difference how a static versus non-static class variable is accessed, but I don't know it would affect the speed. I also remember reading somewhere that in-function variables may be accessed faster, but I don't know why and where I read that. Background on the question: some painting function in games are called excessively often and even small difference in access time can affect the overall performance when a variable is used in a largish loop.

  • Bind data of interface properties only

    - by nivpenso
    I am new in all the Entity Framework models and the data bindings. I created an interface and generated a model class from my Candidate table in the db. public interface ICandidate { String ID { get; set; } string Name { get; set; } string Mail { get; set; } } i created a partial class to the generated Candidate model so i will be able to implement the ICandidate interface without changing any generated code. public partial class Candidates : ICandidate { string ICandidate.ID { get { return this.PK; } set { _PK = value; } } string ICandidate.Name { get{ return this._Name; } set { _Name = value; } } string ICandidate.Mail { get { return this._Email; } set { this._Email = value; } } } Of course, the generated class has more properties than the interface has (Like IsDeleted field that is not necessary for the interface). I want to display in a DataGridView all the candidates from the db. But I want that only the interface's properties will be shown as columns in the DataGridView. Is there a way bind only the interface's properties the the DataGridView? In my DB there is a table called Candidate_To_Company with these columns: PK, Candidate_FK, Company_FK, Insertion_Date I would like to bind this table to DataGridView. but instead of displaying Candidate_FK i would like to display the candidate name from ICandidate. Is this possible?

    Simple search engine issues.. I'm creating a simple search engine but i'm not able to figure out how to go about it. So here's what I have tried. I need to get the results based on first/last name.. JSFiddle : http://jsfiddle.net/WSPbP/ JS $(document).ready(function() { $('#sbutn').click(function() { $v = $('#searchbox').val(); console.log($('#myConnections >div').find("div:contains("+$v+")")); }); }); HTML <div id="searchelement"> <div class="search"><input type="text" name="search" id="searchbox" value="" /></div> <div class="searchbutton" id="sbutn"><button type="button">Search</button></div> </div> </br> <div id="myConnections"> <div class="left" style="width:100px; height:100px;"> <img style="width:70px; height:70px;" src="picture1.jpg" alt=""><br> person1_xyz </div> <div class="left" style="width:100px; height:100px;"> <img style="width:70px; height:70px;" src="picture2.jpg" alt=""><br> person2 abc </div> </div>

  • How do you deal with breaking changes in a Rails migration?

    - by Adam Lassek
    Let's say I'm starting out with this model: class Location < ActiveRecord::Base attr_accessible :company_name, :location_name end Now I want to refactor one of the values into an associated model. class CreateCompanies < ActiveRecord::Migration def self.up create_table :companies do |t| t.string :name, :null => false t.timestamps end add_column :locations, :company_id, :integer, :null => false end def self.down drop_table :companies remove_column :locations, :company_id end end class Location < ActiveRecord::Base attr_accessible :location_name belongs_to :company end class Company < ActiveRecord::Base has_many :locations end This all works fine during development, since I'm doing everything a step at a time; but if I try deploying this to my staging environment, I run into trouble. The problem is that since my code has already changed to reflect the migration, it causes the environment to crash when it attempts to run the migration. Has anyone else dealt with this problem? Am I resigned to splitting my deployment up into multiple steps?
