My website doesn't have frequent content updates. How to add relevant, fresh content (via Google news, etc. ) into my website so that search engines index it often.
I've found, via Google, numerous people asking the same question, but no solutions. The Python Image Library (PIL) has tools for stepping through an already existing multi-page TIFF, but nothing about creating them.
Libraries would hopefully be available on Windows, for Python 2.6.
If there's some freeware out there which will do the trick, I wouldn't mind seeing it, but I was hoping I could accomplish this in Python.
Example website is http://www.wikihow.com/Main-Page, check the "Recent Changes" heading on the right side.
I am really amazed with the implementation of such scroll bars.
Google also uses something very similar to this.
Can someone give me some idea how to do this using jquery.

I want to print a individual comment in drupal based on it's comment ID. How can I do this? Google and other sources have yielded me nothing. Thank you.
I am using UIWebView as a web browser on my application and when I open an url with my browser and return back to the main view, then go to browser view, my webview doesn't save the content. So, if I go to google.com and switch views, then again go to the browser view, I have to type the url again to open the webpage! How can I save the web browser's content?
So, simply I want to be able to run a for across a list of URLs, if one fails then I want to continue on to try the next.
I've tried using the following but sadly it throws and exception if the first URL doesn't work.
servers = ('http://www.google.com', 'http://www.stackoverflow.com')
for server in servers:
try:
u = urllib2.urlopen(server)
except urllib2.URLError:
continue
else:
break
else:
raise
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.
there is a quote from Algorithms for Java (sedgwick 2003) p. 135:
"we commonly use driver programs when developing or debugging adt iplementations"
what is meant by driver program?
google just gives me loads of info about programming drivers, clearly not related
Hi! I'm new to the MKMapView (iPhone). I want to add several annotations to the map of Copenhagen (Denmark). I have the latitude and longitude values of different locations of the city. But I don't know how to get the longitudeDelta and latitudeDelta of these locations. I'm using the Google Map API's to calculate the latitude and longitude values (By web services) of each location in the city map.
I need help on how to calculate delta values
Thanks
Hi all,
I am developing a small application on Google's android emulator.
I am trying to figure out how I can simulate a phone call from one instance of an emulator to another (both running on my computer). Does anyone know how this can be done?
Thank you very much.
I am using Authlogic-Connect for third party logins. After running appropriate migrations, Twitter/Google/yahoo logins seem to work fine but the facebook login throws exception:
SSL_connect returned=1 errno=0 state=SSLv3 read server certificate B: certificate verify failed
The dev log shows
OpenSSL::SSL::SSLError (SSL_connect returned=1 errno=0 state=SSLv3 read server certificate B: certificate verify failed):
app/controllers/users_controller.rb:37:in `update'
Please suggest..
Hi,
I'm trying to download a file from the internet, but I get the error -3001 back. I've been searching through google but the error doesn't appear on any website, so i have no idea what it means.
Can anyone tell me what the error code "NSURLErrorDomain error -3001" means?
Thanks
I'm brand new to Ruby testing and Google isn't helping.
Using Test/Unit, how can I print an instance variable, like
test "thing to happen" do
do_stuff
assert_equal "foo", @variable
p @varible
end
Are there some good tools that can analyze the performance issues in an asp.net application? i google and found a couple like dotTrace, stimulustechnology. have anyone used a better one?
thanks
Talking about javax.crypto.Cipher;
I was trying to encrypt data using Cipher.getInstance("RSA/None/NoPadding", "BC"); but I got the exception: ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException: too much data for RSA block
Looks like is something related to the "NoPadding", so, reading about padding, looks like CBC is the best approach to use here.
I found at google something about "RSA/CBC/PKCS#7", what is this "PKCS#7"? And why its not listed on sun's standard algorithm names?
I've built basic shopping carts with PHP before but in an attempt to get my feet wet with OOP, I'd like to try using that method.
I come from a design background but do understand some basics of OOP but would like to see a tutorial or something simple I could base this on.
The site is small and the cart functionality required is very standard.
Can anyone offer a link to a decent tutorial or article on building a Cart with PHP OOP, a quick google didn't turn up anything decent.
I am trying to understand what the process is of turning HTML into a PDF/Postscript programmatically
All Google searches turn up libraries to do this, but I am more interested in the actual process required.
I know you could just set up a Postscript printer and print directly to that, but some of these libraries appear to create the PDF on the fly to allow previews etc.
has anyone had any experience in this, or can provide any guidance?
Hi,
I'm getting this error when trying to restore an SSAS database from a backup:
The ddl2:MemberKeysUnique element at line 63, column 4862 (namespace http://schemas.microsoft.com/analysisservices/2003/engine/2) cannot appear under Load/ObjectDefinition/Dimension/Hierarchies/Hierarchy.
Google hasn't turned up any helpful solutions. (a lot of people found that installing SP2 made the error go away but this has always previously worked in our environment)
I don't really understand what the error means. Can somebody interpret or suggest a fix?
Thanks,
Phil
i am quite new to iphone development but i have been given a old application and told to change the launch image(default.png)..i tried to google it but couldn't get much help from it??
how can i change the default image in my old application?? any information regarding it will be really helpful??
We have a legacy VB6 component that was com+/MTS and is used by asp classic. Staff is having trouble with deployment.
Would there be any harm in just using regsvr32 to register the DLL, which will be used by IIS?
Alternatively---I won't touch COM+ with a 10 foot pole--so is there a suitable one line command to register a VB6 component with COM+/MTS using a 11 foot pole? My google fu is failing me.
And especially are there .NET libraries available for the purpose? Two hours of Google searches have turned up nothing so I'm not optimistic, but ...
The big question: is it even possible to use ZModem over USB?
TIA.
The echo area is the line at the bottom of Emacs below the mode line:
~ ~
| |
+-----------------------+
|-U:--- mode-line |
+-----------------------+
| M-x echo-area |
+-----------------------+
Now the mode line is highly customizable while the echo area is more rigid (and unused a lot of the time). The question is pretty simple: is it possible to hide the echo area during inactivity and redisplay it once it needs your attention:
~ ~ ~ ~
| | | |
| | +-----------------------+
| | |-U:--- mode-line |
+-----------------------+ +-----------------------+
|-U:--- mode-line | | M-x echo-area |
+-----------------------+ +-----------------------+
Inactive Active
This is similar to the way Google Chrome displays URLs when you hover your mose over a link and the Firefox addon Pentadactyl where the command-line is hidden by default.
I just ran Google's Page Speed application against our site and one of the recommendations was to Leverage browser caching. Expanding this revealed the following:
The following cacheable resources have
a short freshness lifetime:
Specify an expiration at least one week in
the future for the following resources:
<a long list of images >
<some javascript files >
How do I go about lengthening the "freshness lifetime" of particular images?
It's an ASP.NET project running on IIS7.5
Thanks for any help!
I'm trying to include a simple glossary to my LaTeX document,
I already searched for something like that on google, but never got it running.
I would like to use glossary or glossaries.
how to write it in the text?
how to print it?
what to execute on which position?
I have a searchbox with auto-suggest that pops a div up underneath it with multiple search string suggestions (like google). Is it possible to have drop shadow on the auto-suggest box with CSS or will I need a script of some sort? I tried a background image but the number of suggests can vary from 1 to 10 or 15.
I'd prefer something that works in IE6+ and FF2+ if possible. Thanks!
