  • Invoking powershell from Java

    Anyone know of a good library to invoke powershell scripts from within Java? I'm currently spawning a seperate process (powershell.exe) and then parse the output, but it would really be nice if I can leverage Powershell's 'power' by getting objects back from a powershell call. Edit: Otherwise, anyone else doing such interop? What method do you use?

  • visual studio recognizing .asp properly or suggestion for classic asp editor/iDE

    How do I get visual studio 2005 to work best with .asp files? I used to have this on my old PC but I can't get the settings right. I exported and important all my old settings and still no dice. alternatively I think there might be an even better choice for classic asp IDE editor. It'd be nice to have intellisense, completion, highlighting, stuff like that for ASP (vbscript) and css/html at the same time. (I'm happy not to type out css selectors) thanks

    Hi, I have a few mp3 files which are not tagged. Winamp has a nice feature which I think is called "autotag" and which is very good at finding out artist and title for files. I'd like something like this for unix, so that I could possibly get artists and titles for my untagged files. Do you know some program which does this? Thanks.

A few friends and I are thinking of starting a few projects for iPhone, web, Android, etc., and it would be nice to have a public (internet) code repository to use that would work well on any platform (Mac, PC, Linux).   • Is there a way to create a step chart using the Google Charts API?

    I'd like to use the google charts API to create a step chart for my Rails application. Preferably using the annotated timeline Google has (since it has a nice wrapper plugin for rails): http://code.google.com/apis/visualization/documentation/gallery/annotatedtimeline.html However, there doesn't seem to be a way to create a step chart using the annotated timeline or any other chart in the Google API. I'm looking to make a plot like this: If there is no way to do this with the google API, is there an alternative graphing library that can handle such a task?

    Several MS apps support the concept of chords, like "CTRL+X,Y" which means "holding down CTRL, press X, then Y". Is this a bespoke thing they (and other companies) implement, or is it built into any APIs? But it seems to me that the translation is only for the predefined magento keyword, like 'add to cart', 'add to wishlist' etc and not for the product name, info, and description that the user input to the store. I found Spreadsheet Gears to be very nice for manipulating and allowing the user to edit Excel files, but on spreadsheets that use VBA for calculations, well, these don't work.     Hi, I need to validate a date in a web forms application. For this I use a CompareValidator with Operator="DataTypeCheck" Type="Date" The problem is that this Validator doesn't work properly on Firefox with 2 digit years. ( javascript error: m[2] is undefined) With a 4 digits year it's working properly.     At face value, it would seem that object initializers present a problem for .net 4.0 "code contracts", where normally the invariant should be established by the time the object constructor is finished. Presumably, however, object-initializers require properties to be set after construction is complete. My question is if the invariants of "code contracts" are able to handle object initializers, "as if" the properties were set before the constructor completes? That would be very nice indeed!!

I can code simple things using apple script but you can't do that much with that and it only works on macs. I have a mac and a dell so something that I could code and run on both would be nice.
