• Troubles configuring SSL for an Apache host

  I configured it on Friday night and all worked well. Today for some reason it stopped working and I can't figure out why. When you goto the secure page it's acting like I have a self-signed certificate and I don't. • Connecting to external MySQL DB from a web server not running MySQL

  While I've been working with MySQL for years, this is the first time I've run across this very newbie-esq issue. Due to a client demand, I must host their website files (PHP) on a IIS server that is not running MySQL (instead, they are running MSSQL). However, I have developed the site using a MySQL database which is located on an external host (Rackspace Cloud). Obviously, my mysql_connect function is now bombing because MySQL is not running on localhost. Question: Is it even possible to hit an external MySQL database if localhost is not running MySQL?   I currently use OBBs and I have a vehicle that is a rigid body and some buildings. • Facebook Connect and Hash Password Encryption

  I'm trying to integrate a Zen Cart site with Facebook Connect. So far, I've been able to get Zen Cart to recognize that the user has a facebook account and is logged in, but that's it. True authentication into Zen Cart eludes me because I can't figure out where a password could be stored and how to get it to Zen Cart to be compared with the password hash. I know Facebook Connect has been implemented with webapps that have such passwords like wordpress, so I know there must be a way to do it. Is the password stored in a cookie? In the Facebook application itself? Any help would be appreciated, even if it's just a place to start searching.

  Coming from a SQL Server background, I'm a newbie with regard to HBase, but the technology looks to be a good fit for what we're doing and the cost is definitely right! I need to maintain a list of log entries which normally I would create in an RDBS as: create table Log ( UserID int, SiteID int, Page varchar(50), Date smalldatetime ) where one user may have 0 or 1000 rows in this simple table. Typical queries would be to find all the rows for one user or all the rows for one user on one site. How does this translate into a "map" in HBase where there is no "row key" AND the same (SiteID,Page) may appear many times. My first thought is that UserID is a row key, but I still don't understand "column families" and the other terminology well enough to understand how to setup the table to hold this data where the one UserID can have many (SiteID,Page,Date) "rows". Any direction is appreciated!

• PHP HttpRequest Cookie Issue

  I have a chunk of code to login to test a web site login: $r = new HttpRequest($newlocation, HttpRequest::METH_GET); $r-addCookies($cookieArray); $r-send(); The content of $cookieArray is from a redirect, but I don't modify it in any way. The really baked part is that if the value of the cookie (an authentication token string) contains a slash, it doesn't login properly. If it doesn't have a slash, everything works. Any ideas are appreciated.

I've been asked to add some additional functionality to booking pages that will automatically set a booking button based on passed parameters. The existing working regex is as follows: RewriteRule ^.+-(\d+)\.accommodation$ property_detail.php?id=$1 Which works fine with the url like below and passes through the URL. this-is-the-property-name.1234.accomodation However as a quick shiv, I am trying to do the following: this-is-the-property-name.1234.accomodation?override=true&start_date=2010-05-14&numbernights=2&sleeps=10&price=1012 The regex I came up with for this was: RewriteRule ^.+-(\d+)\.accommodation\?override=(\w+)&start_date=(19|20)[0-9]{2}[- /.](0[1-9]|1[012])[- /.](0[1-9]|[12][0-9]|3[01])&numbernights=(\d+)&sleeps=(\d+)&price=(\d+)$ property_detail.php?id=$1&override=$2&start_date=$3-$4-$5&numbernights=$6&sleeps=$7&price=$8 The regex is passing as valid in RegexBuddy - however it keeps causing a 500 error on the server. • VS2010, VSS and post-commit hook?

  I'm using Visual Studio 2010 and VSS. Yes, I know VSS sucks. Hard. I'm attempting to force a move to TFS (since SVN integration with Expression and Sharepoint Designer is near impossible without forcing non-technical content managers to use TortoiseSVN), but that will not happen in the short term. I'm working with a local copy of the (classic ASP 3.0) site, and need to publish individual files to a web folder on our dev server whenever I check in a file so that the changes can be seen by other interested parties without having to publish from VSS. Does anyone know of a convenient way to add a post-commit script with VSS? It's acceptable for this script to run on my dev box (as opposed to the server), considering that VSS has no server to execute such actions.

  Hi, as i understand, when i load a asp.net .aspx page on the (iis)server, it's processed via the w3p.exe process. But when iis gets multiple requests, are they all processed by the same w3p process? And does this process automaticly use all my processors and cores? And after that: when i start i new thread in my page, this thread still works when the pages is already served to the client. Where does this thread live? also in the w3p.exe process? And what if i assign another apppool to my site, what does that do? Michel

  I'm having one error repeatedly. The site is on ASP.NET 2.0 web form. There is no pattern to reproduce this error again because it occurs sometimes and it resolve by adding blank space at end of the in web.config. What could be the problem?   Hi guys, I built a simple social community website for a client - the client would like to add in a forum and he likes Simple Machines Forum. The website I built has its own users management system. The client would like SMF on his website and at the same time when a user is logged into the website they don't need to log into SMF website as well... how can this be done? Or should I just tell the client to consider two separet independant applications in this case i.e forum totally disjoint from the main site?

• MVC2: "File not found" after view is painted

  This is wierd. First, I'm building a site based on someone else's framework (Piers Lawson: Creating a RESTful Web Service using MVC ), so I'm not entirely sure what's going on under the covers. But when I run it in VS 2010 by pressing F5, it brings up the Home page, and THEN traps an error in Application_Error. The error is "File does not exist" exception. But I have no idea what file it's looking for. Where does flow control go after the View is finished displaying? How can I break to find out what it's looking for?

• Using readfile() with remote URL and SSL

  I have a php-based website that uses SSL and requires a a user to login before accessing any page. I would like to allow access to this site from another domain, so that the functionality remains the same, but the look, feel and domain changes for the user (with the added advantage that I have to maintain only one version of the code). Having done some reading, I'm using readfile() function calls in php files on the secondary server to corresponding files on the primary server. For example, the login.php on the primary server is accessed from the secondary server by a file called login.php containing readfile("http://www.primarydomain.com/login.php") (and nothing else). Now the problem - I can't even login! The login page appears fine when called initially, but when login user and pwd are entered and submitted, it's as if the remote server doesn't see the $_SERVER['REQUEST_METHOD'] variable that triggers form processing and just loads as an empty form. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong or what configuation I might need to change? Thanks!

  Typically I use a database such as MySQL or PostGreSQL on the same machine as the application using it, which makes access easy and secure. I'm just now building the first site that will have a separate physical database server (later this year it will). I'm wondering 3 things: (security) What things should I look into for starters pertaining to security of accessing a separate machine's database? (scalability) Are their scalability issues that I should think about pertaining to this (technology agnostic)? (more ServerFaultish but related) If starting the DB out on the same physical server (using a separate VMWare VM) and later moving to a different physical server, are there implicit problems that I'll have to deal with? Isn't another VM still accessed via localhost? If these questions are completely ludicrous, I apologize to you DB experts.

The system cannot find the file specified. I've researched the problem and some of the solutions are pointing to Turning on Assembly Binding Logging. I'm confused as to what this error is. So my question: *What does this error mean and how do I resolve it? I am not hosting the site in a shared hosting scenario, it is on a single server running .NET Framework 3.5.0 using IIS 6.0 Edit .Net Framework 3.5 SP 1 isn't installed on the server. The missing assemblies are apart of that Service Pack.

  I have a need to store files on Amazon AWS S3, but in order to isolate the user from the AWS authentication I want to go via an ASP page on my site, which the user will be logged into. So: The application sends the file using the Delphi Indy library TidHTTP.Put (FileStream) routine to the ASP page, along with some authentication stuff (mine, not AWS) on the querystring. The ASP page checks the auth details and then if OK stores the file on S3 using my Amazon account. Problem I have is: how do I access the data coming in from the Indy PUT using JScript in the ASP page and pass it on to S3. I'm OK with AWS signing, etc, it's just the nuts and bolts of connecting the two bits (the incoming request and the outgoing AWS request) ... TIA R
