  • ldap client cannot contact ldap server

    - by Van
I have followed these instructions: https://help.ubuntu.com/12.04/serverguide/openldap-server.html#openldap-auth-config The ldap server works fine. I can log into it using an ldap account. However, I configured another Ubuntu 12.04 server as a ldap client for authentication but I cannot contact the server. Here is the error: On the client: # ldapsearch -Q -LLL -Y EXTERNAL -H ldapi://ldap01.domain.local -b cn=config dn ldap_sasl_interactive_bind_s: Can't contact LDAP server (-1) The server can receive requests: On the client: # telnet ldap01.domain.local 389 Trying 10.3.17.10... Connected to sisn01.domain.local. Escape character is '^]'. On the client: # ldapsearch -x -h ldap01.domain.local -b cn=config dn # extended LDIF # # LDAPv3 # base <cn=config> with scope subtree # filter: (objectclass=*) # requesting: dn # # search result search: 2 result: 32 No such object # numResponses: 1 On the server: # ps aux | grep slapd openldap 3759 0.0 0.2 564820 8228 ? Ssl 08:39 0:00 /usr/sbin/slapd -h ldap:/// ldapi:/// -g openldap -u openldap -F /etc/ldap/slapd.d I suspect I am missing a configuration parameter either on the server or on the client. I just cannot figure out what. Any help here would be appreciated.

  • Cyrus on CentOS with sasl / pam / ldap

    - by Oscar
SASL/PAM/LDAP is driving me crazy... that's what I read a lot when googling for problems in this area, and what I experience myself :-S I'm trying to get Cyrus imap working for virtual hosting on CentOS with this authorisation backend and really don't know what's happening. In saslauthd I configured the LDAP search filter to use, but it looks like pam completely ignores it. • CentOS PAM+LDAP login and host attribute

    - by pianisteg
My system is CentOS 6.3, openldap is configured well, PAM authorization works fine. But after turning pam_check_host_attr to yes, all LDAP-auths fail with message "Access denied for this host". hostname on the server returns correct value, the same value is listed in user's profile. "pam_check_host_attr no" works fine and allows everyone with correct uid/password a piece of /var/log/secure: Sep 26 05:33:01 ldap sshd[1588]: pam_unix(sshd:auth): authentication failure; logname= uid=0 euid=0 tty=ssh ruser= rhost=my-host user=my-username Sep 26 05:33:01 ldap sshd[1588]: Failed password for my-username from 77.AA.BB.CC port 58528 ssh2 Sep 26 05:33:01 ldap sshd[1589]: fatal: Access denied for user my-username by PAM account configuration Another two servers (CentOS 5.7 Debian) authorizes on this LDAP server correctly. Even with pam_check_host_attr yes! I didn't edit /etc/security/access.conf, it is empty, only default comments. I don't know what to do! How to fix this?

  • PAM / LDAP authentication with Ubuntu 10.04

    - by t6d
I can't wrap my brain around the new pam.d configuration syntax used in Ubuntu 10.04. How do I setup PAM so that it allows users stored in my LDAP database to login. I already configured nscd, so id <user> or getent passwd are already listing my LDAP users, but PAM doesn't work, whether the normal shell login nor su.

  • Can't configure PAM + LDAP on Debian Lenny - Getting error=49 on server logs

    - by Jorge Suárez de Lis
I've been migrating some servers and desktops using Ubuntu 10.04 from getting the users from an old OpenLDAP implementation to a newer Centos Active Directory. I haven't had any problems so far, until I reached a Debian Lenny server. I've set up the server as the others, setting /etc/ldap.conf and /etc/ldap/ldap.conf. However, when I issue "getent passwd", I get nothing from the LDAP server. Reading the pam_ldap manpage, I realized that /etc/ldap.conf was not an accepted file by pam_ldap -it worked with Ubuntu though-, so I renamed it to /etc/pam_ldap.conf. Same result. However, once I've changed the name of this file, when I login using SSH I get this on the LDAP server logs: [20/Jul/2012:11:19:40 +0200] conn=16501 fd=155 slot=155 connection from x.x.x.50 to 10.1.176.237 [20/Jul/2012:11:19:40 +0200] conn=16501 op=0 BIND dn="uid=ubuntu,ou=Applications,ou=CITIUS,dc=inv,dc=usc,dc=es" method=128 version=3 [20/Jul/2012:11:19:40 +0200] conn=16501 op=0 RESULT err=0 tag=97 nentries=0 etime=0 dn="uid=ubuntu,ou=applications,ou=citius,dc=inv,dc=usc,dc=es" [20/Jul/2012:11:19:40 +0200] conn=16501 op=1 SRCH base="ou=People,ou=CITIUS,dc=inv,dc=usc,dc=es" scope=2 filter="(uid=jorge.suarez)" attrs=ALL [20/Jul/2012:11:19:40 +0200] conn=16501 op=1 RESULT err=0 tag=101 nentries=1 etime=0 notes=U [20/Jul/2012:11:19:40 +0200] conn=16501 op=2 BIND dn="uid=jorge.suarez,ou=People,ou=CITIUS,dc=inv,dc=usc,dc=es" method=128 version=3 [20/Jul/2012:11:19:40 +0200] conn=16501 op=2 RESULT err=49 tag=97 nentries=0 etime=0 The password isn't working. Maybe this is not supported by Debian Lenny? On pam_ldap.conf, I've set up this, as in all the other servers: # Do not hash the password at all; presume # the directory server will do it, if # necessary. This is the default. pam_password md5 Also tried clear, but it didn't work. Anyways, it's weird that issuing getent passwd still gets me no users. However, if I use pamtest from the package libpam-dotfile to test login, it works. # pamtest ssh jorge.suarez Trying to authenticate <jorge.suarez> for service <ssh>. Password: Authentication successful. # pamtest foo jorge.suarez Trying to authenticate <jorge.suarez> for service <foo>. Password: Authentication successful. • Immediate logout after login with PAM, Kerberos, and LDAP

    - by Dylan Klomparens
I've set up remote login on a computer using Kerberos and LDAP. I've also configured NFS to mount onto /home so that the user's home directory is the same wherever they login. Kerberos authentication seems to work fine. I can get a ticket using kinit user1 (assuming user1 is a remote user) and see the ticket with klist. I'm pretty sure LDAP is working because I see the proper output from getent passwd, which lists all the remote users. The contents of /home are present when I list the files. The problem is: when I try to login as a remote user the session is immediately ended. Why is it not letting me stay logged in? Here is the output from /var/log/messages after a login attempt: # /var/log/messages: Oct 9 10:57:53 tophat login[6472]: pam_krb5[6472]: authentication succeeds for 'user1' ([email protected]) Oct 9 10:57:53 tophat login[6472]: pam_krb5[6472]: pam_setcred (establish credential) called Oct 9 10:57:53 tophat login[6472]: pam_krb5[6472]: pam_setcred (delete credential) called EDIT: The distro is openSUSE. • Forum engine with full LDAP integration [closed]

    - by Andrian Nord
We are looking for forum engine which may actually maintain user data into LDAP, maybe via mods. Core point is about ability to maintain the data, i.e. all user profile settings, like nickname, password, email, avatar, birthday and others (preferably configurable). One example of good ldap integration, level of which I'm expecting, is drupal's ldap integration, which allows to map any user's attribute into ldap and keeps it in sync with database. Year ago I've done a small research over existing Free&FOSS engines and find out few forum engines with LDAP integration, namely SFM, phpBB and something else. The most maintained solution were provided by phpBB3, which supports LDAP integration out-of-box, but it is unable to sync data with changes in LDAP server made by other software. Actually it wasn't even propagating changes back, I'm not saying about ability to map additional attributes (other than name/password/email). Also, I haven't found any forum with architecture which have proper abstraction over user settings, thus I doubt that this engines (including phpBB) are possible to mod such functionality without introducing dramatic changes into core codebase. More recent research showed that even some commercial software, like IPB is unable to keep it's database synced with LDAP directory and map additional attributes. In other words, all support I've seen so far is simple user creation upon first user's login, which is not good for us, as forum is not primary site and should not maintain it's own users base (to reduce risk of possible collisions). LDAP import is required due to many other services (ftp, email, jabber, drupal site) using same users base. Currently we have forum embedded into Drupal site, but we are unsatisfied with it's features. BTW, we are using Linux and this is not duplicate of this question, as it's author seems to be satisfied with behaviour described above. So, my question is: Are there any (preferably FOSS&free) forum engines that may import, export, keep in sync, or otherwise integrade with LDAP user database (preferably with ability to map additional fields to ldap attributes)?

  • Apache+LDAP auth on Ubuntu says "Can't contact LDAP server" while ldapsearch is perfect

    - by tw79
Hi Gurus, I'm migrating from an existing apache+LDAP+mysql+php server to a new hardware platform. Old server is running Debian Lenny, which I have no config documentation available (was done by previous sysadmin); New server is running Ubuntu 10.04.2 LTS 32bit. After installing Apache and configured LDAP client on the new server, ldapsearch to the LDAP master (another dedicated server) returns results just fine. However, when using apache with https, logs complain that "Can't contact LDAP server". I'm authenticating using ldaps and can confirm that 636 port is open on the LDAP master. I can't understand why apache would fail while regular ldapsearch is working! Below is part of the virtualhost config: <Directory /> Options FollowSymLinks AllowOverride None #AuthLDAPEnabled on AuthType Basic AuthBasicProvider ldap AuthName "Private" AuthLDAPURL ldaps://master.ldap.organisation.com:636/ou=people,dc=organisation,dc=com?uid AuthzLDAPAuthoritative off require valid-user AddType application/x-httpd-php .php .phtml <IfModule mod_php4.c> php_flag magic_quotes_gpc Off php_flag track_vars On php_value include_path . </IfModule> </Directory> Any help/suggestion is very much appreciated!

  • Rip authedicatation from LDAP to Local

    - by oxinabox
We are taking a small portion of out network offline, and running a separate network using that portion. (By small portion I mean 2 servers, that will be connected to 30 odd boxs that aren't usually part of our network, and don't need to authenicate) I intend to create a VM on one of the servers to provide general user services, and IRC server, remote shell etc. And I would like the users to be able to use there usual server log in details. Problem is the LDAP server that normally checks those details is not one of the severs. So I need to be able to some how take their details off LDAP and put them on the the server that is coming. One suggestion I had was to set a LDAP server on the VM locally, and clone the LDAP database onto it (using something called slapcat) is this the best way? Or can I I change the LDAP data into local authentication data?

  • Samba PDC share slow with LDAP backend

    - by hmart
The scenario I have a SUSE SLES 11.1 SP1 machine as Samba master PDC with LDAP backend. In one share there are Database files for a Client-Server application. I log XP and Windows 7 machines to the local domain (example.local), the login is a little slow but works. In the client computers have an executable which opens, reads and writes the database files from the server share. The Problem When running Samba with LDAP password backend the client application runs VERY SLOW with a maximum transfer rate of 2500 MBit per second. If disable LDAP the client app speed increases 20x, with transfer rate of 50Mbit/sec and running smoothly. I'm doing test with just two users and two machines, so concurrency, or LDAP size shouldn't be the problem here. The suspect LDAP, Smb.conf [global] section configuration. The Question What can I do? I've googled a lot, but still have no answer. • Clients not recognizing secondary LDAP groups?

    - by Nick
I'm having an issue where users who are members of secondary groups in LDAP are not being recognized as members of that group by the client. In this case, user jdoe is not being recognized as a member of the projects group. On the client, getent group shows: projects:*:20001:1001,1002,1003,1004,1005,1006 and getent passwd shows: jdoe:x:1003:10003:John Doe:/home/jdoe:/bin/bash But if I log in to the client as jdoe, and run id, I get: uid=1003(jdoe) gid=10003(jdoe) groups=24(cdrom),25(floppy),29(audio),44(video),46(plugdev),10003(jdoe) It recognizes jdoe's primary group, and the secondary groups that are appended by the client to all LDAP users, but the LDAP secondary groups are not in the list. We can see that jdoe's id is in the projects group, so why is the projects group not showing when jdoe runs the id command? The group objects are basic posixGroup entries, with a memberUid attribute for each of its members. We are using OpenLDAP on Ubuntu 10.04 server and clients.

  • Look Inside WebLogic Server Embedded LDAP with an LDAP Explorer

    - by james.bayer
Today a question came up on our internal WebLogic Server mailing lists about an issue deleting a Group from WebLogic Server.  The group had a special character in the name. The WLS console refused to delete the group with the message a java.net.MalformedURLException and another message saying “Errors must be corrected before proceeding.” as shown below. The group aa:bb is the one with the issue.  Click to enlarge. WebLogic Server includes an embedded LDAP server that can be used for managing users and groups for “reasonably small environments (10,000 or fewer users)”.  For organizations scaling larger or using more high-end features, I recommend looking at one of Oracle’s very popular enterprise directory services products like Oracle Internet Directory or Oracle Directory Server Enterprise Edition.  You can configure multiple authenicators in WebLogic Server so that you can use multiple directories at the same time. I am not sure WebLogic Server supports special characters in group names for the Embedded LDAP server, but in this case both the console and WLST reported the same issue deleting the group with the special character in the name.  Here’s the WLST output: wls:/hotspot_domain/serverConfig/SecurityConfiguration/hotspot_domain/Realms/myrealm/AuthenticationProviders/DefaultAuthenticator> cmo.removeGroup('aa:bb') Traceback (innermost last): File "<console>", line 1, in ? weblogic.security.providers.authentication.LDAPAtnDelegateException: [Security:090296]invalid URL ldap:///ou=people,ou=myrealm,dc=hotspot_domain??sub?(&(objectclass=person)(wlsMemberOf=cn=aa:bb,ou=groups,ou=myrealm,dc=hotspot_domain)) at weblogic.security.providers.authentication.LDAPAtnGroupMembersNameList.advance(LDAPAtnGroupMembersNameList.java:254) at weblogic.security.providers.authentication.LDAPAtnGroupMembersNameList.<init>(LDAPAtnGroupMembersNameList.java:119) at weblogic.security.providers.authentication.LDAPAtnDelegate.listGroupMembers(LDAPAtnDelegate.java:1392) at weblogic.security.providers.authentication.LDAPAtnDelegate.removeGroup(LDAPAtnDelegate.java:1989) at weblogic.security.providers.authentication.DefaultAuthenticatorImpl.removeGroup(DefaultAuthenticatorImpl.java:242) at weblogic.security.providers.authentication.DefaultAuthenticatorMBeanImpl.removeGroup(DefaultAuthenticatorMBeanImpl.java:407) at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke0(Native Method) at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(NativeMethodAccessorImpl.java:39) at sun.reflect.DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.java:25) at java.lang.reflect.Method.invoke(Method.java:597) at weblogic.management.jmx.modelmbean.WLSModelMBean.invoke(WLSModelMBean.java:437) at com.sun.jmx.interceptor.DefaultMBeanServerInterceptor.invoke(DefaultMBeanServerInterceptor.java:836) at com.sun.jmx.mbeanserver.JmxMBeanServer.invoke(JmxMBeanServer.java:761) at weblogic.management.jmx.mbeanserver.WLSMBeanServerInterceptorBase$16.run(WLSMBeanServerInterceptorBase.java:449) at java.security.AccessController.doPrivileged(Native Method) at weblogic.management.jmx.mbeanserver.WLSMBeanServerInterceptorBase.invoke(WLSMBeanServerInterceptorBase.java:447) at weblogic.management.mbeanservers.internal.JMXContextInterceptor.invoke(JMXContextInterceptor.java:263) at weblogic.management.jmx.mbeanserver.WLSMBeanServerInterceptorBase$16.run(WLSMBeanServerInterceptorBase.java:449) at java.security.AccessController.doPrivileged(Native Method) at weblogic.management.jmx.mbeanserver.WLSMBeanServerInterceptorBase.invoke(WLSMBeanServerInterceptorBase.java:447) at weblogic.management.mbeanservers.internal.SecurityInterceptor.invoke(SecurityInterceptor.java:444) at weblogic.management.jmx.mbeanserver.WLSMBeanServer.invoke(WLSMBeanServer.java:323) at weblogic.management.mbeanservers.internal.JMXConnectorSubjectForwarder$11$1.run(JMXConnectorSubjectForwarder.java:663) at java.security.AccessController.doPrivileged(Native Method) at weblogic.management.mbeanservers.internal.JMXConnectorSubjectForwarder$11.run(JMXConnectorSubjectForwarder.java:661) at weblogic.security.acl.internal.AuthenticatedSubject.doAs(AuthenticatedSubject.java:363) at weblogic.management.mbeanservers.internal.JMXConnectorSubjectForwarder.invoke(JMXConnectorSubjectForwarder.java:654) at javax.management.remote.rmi.RMIConnectionImpl.doOperation(RMIConnectionImpl.java:1427) at javax.management.remote.rmi.RMIConnectionImpl.access$200(RMIConnectionImpl.java:72) at javax.management.remote.rmi.RMIConnectionImpl$PrivilegedOperation.run(RMIConnectionImpl.java:1265) at java.security.AccessController.doPrivileged(Native Method) at javax.management.remote.rmi.RMIConnectionImpl.doPrivilegedOperation(RMIConnectionImpl.java:1367) at javax.management.remote.rmi.RMIConnectionImpl.invoke(RMIConnectionImpl.java:788) at javax.management.remote.rmi.RMIConnectionImpl_WLSkel.invoke(Unknown Source) at weblogic.rmi.internal.BasicServerRef.invoke(BasicServerRef.java:667) at weblogic.rmi.internal.BasicServerRef$1.run(BasicServerRef.java:522) at weblogic.security.acl.internal.AuthenticatedSubject.doAs(AuthenticatedSubject.java:363) at weblogic.security.service.SecurityManager.runAs(SecurityManager.java:146) at weblogic.rmi.internal.BasicServerRef.handleRequest(BasicServerRef.java:518) at weblogic.rmi.internal.wls.WLSExecuteRequest.run(WLSExecuteRequest.java:118) at weblogic.work.ExecuteThread.execute(ExecuteThread.java:207) at weblogic.work.ExecuteThread.run(ExecuteThread.java:176) Caused by: java.net.MalformedURLException at netscape.ldap.LDAPUrl.readNextConstruct(LDAPUrl.java:651) at netscape.ldap.LDAPUrl.parseUrl(LDAPUrl.java:277) at netscape.ldap.LDAPUrl.<init>(LDAPUrl.java:114) at weblogic.security.providers.authentication.LDAPAtnGroupMembersNameList.advance(LDAPAtnGroupMembersNameList.java:224) ... 41 more It’s fairly clear that in order to work that the : character needs to be URL encoded to %3A or similar.  But all is not lost, there is another way.  You can configure an LDAP Explorer like JXplorer to WebLogic Server Embedded LDAP and browse/edit the entries. Follow the instructions here, being sure to change the authentication credentials to the Embedded LDAP server to some value you know, as by default they are some unknown value.  You’ll need to reboot the WebLogic Server Admin Server after making this change. Now configure JXplorer to connect as described in the documentation.  I’ve circled the important inputs.  In this example, my domain name is “hotspot_domain” which listens on the localhost listen address and port 7001.  The cn=Admin user name is a constant identifier for the Administrator of the embedded LDAP and that does not change, but you need to know what it is so you can enter it into the tool you use. Once you connect successfully, you can explore the entries and in this case delete the group that is no longer desired.

  • Disable NSS LDAP IPv6 (AAAA) lookups

    - by pilcrow
Question: How can I disable inet6 AAAA queries for my LDAP server during (LDAP-backed) NSS lookups on a CentOS (RHEL) 5 machine? Background: I've servers configured to consult ldap://ldap.internal for NSS passwd and group lookups. Every relevant NSS lookup, for example the getpwuid(3) implied by an ls -l which needs to translate UIDs to network user names, performs the following DNS dance before connecting to the ldap server: AAAA? ldap.internal -> (no records) AAAA? ldap.internal.internal -> NXDomain A? ldap.internal -> 192.168.3.89 I'd like to skip the first two queries completely. Configuration: [server]$ cat /etc/redhat-release CentOS release 5.4 (Final) [server]$ grep ^passwd /etc/nsswitch.conf passwd: files ldap [server]$ grep ^uri /etc/ldap.conf uri ldap://ldap.internal/ For what it's worth, IPv6 support is otherwise disabled on these systems: [server]$ grep off /etc/modprobe.conf alias ipv6 off alias net-pf-10 off [server]$ echo "$(ip a | grep -c inet6) IPv6-enabled interfaces" 0 IPv6-enabled interfaces

  • LDAP groups not applying to filesystem permissions

    - by BeepDog
System is ArchLinux, and I'm using nss-pam-ldapd (0.8.13-4) to connect myself to ldap. I've got my users and some groups in LDAP: [root@kain tmp]# getent group <localgroups snipped> dkowis:*:10000: mp3s:*:15000:rkowis,dkowis music:*:15002:rkowis,dkowis video:*:15003:transmission,rkowis,dkowis,sickbeard software:*:15004:rkowis,dkowis pictures:*:15005:rkowis,dkowis budget:*:15006:rkowis,dkowis rkowis:*:10001: And I have some directories that are setgid video so that the video group stays, and they're configured g=rwx so that members of the video group can write to them: [root@kain video]# ls -ld /srv/video drwxrwxr-x 8 root video 208 Oct 19 20:49 /srv/video However, members of that group, say dkowis cannot write into that directory: [root@kain video]# groups dkowis mp3s music video software pictures dkowis Total number of groups that dkowis is in is like 7, I redacted a few here. [dkowis@kain wat]$ cd /srv/video [dkowis@kain video]$ touch something touch: cannot touch 'something': Permission denied [dkowis@kain video]$ groups dkowis mp3s music video software pictures I'm at a loss as to why my groups show up in getent groups, but my filesystem permissions are not being respected. I've tried making a new directory in /tmp and setting it's group permissions to rwx, and then trying to write a file in there, it doesn't work. The only time it does work is if I open it wide up allowing o=rwx. That's obviously not what I want, and I'm not able to figure out what my missing piece is. Thanks in advance.

  • Ubuntu, Gnome, PAM and ecryptfs

    - by Michel
I would like to have a directory accessible to a couple of users, and not readable by maintenance types ... I can do what I want using ecryptfs and a password known only to the "couple of users" in question, who then can mount the directory and use as they see fit. I would love to be able to automate that process and unlock the directory at login - again, only for the "couple users" in question, without asking a password. Gnome-keyring is able to store passphrases/passwords encrypted; and, apparently, if I could get a key identity to ecryptfs, Gnome PAM modules would allow the key with that identity to be unlocked, and the directory could be mounted. Alas, I have found no way to go from point A (Gnome PAM keyring module) to point B (use the unlocked key in ecryptfs). Another use of the same mechanism would allow to build a "key escrow" mechanism, where keys to encrypted volumes are safekept with, e.g., HR; so that company information in encrypted directories can be recovered if you pass under the proverbial bus.

  • libpam-ldapd not looking for secondary groups

    - by Jorge Suárez de Lis
I'm migrating from libpam-ldap to libpam-ldapd. I'm having some trouble gathering the secondary groups from LDAP. On libpam-ldap, I had this on the /etc/ldap.conf file: nss_schema rfc2307bis nss_base_passwd ou=People,ou=CITIUS,dc=inv,dc=usc,dc=es nss_base_shadow ou=People,ou=CITIUS,dc=inv,dc=usc,dc=es nss_base_group ou=Groups,ou=CITIUS,dc=inv,dc=usc,dc=es nss_map_attribute uniqueMember member The mapping is there because I'm using groupOfNames instead of groupOfUniqueNames LDAP class for groups, so the attribute naming the members is named member instead of uniqueMember. Now, I want to do the same using libpam-ldapd but I can't get it to work. Here's the relevant part of my /etc/nslcd.conf: base passwd ou=People,ou=CITIUS,dc=inv,dc=usc,dc=es base shadow ou=People,ou=CITIUS,dc=inv,dc=usc,dc=es base group ou=Groups,ou=CITIUS,dc=inv,dc=usc,dc=es map group uniqueMember member And this is the debug output from nslcd, when a user is authenticated: nslcd: [8b4567] DEBUG: connection from pid=12090 uid=0 gid=0 nslcd: [8b4567] DEBUG: nslcd_passwd_byuid(4004) nslcd: [8b4567] DEBUG: myldap_search(base="ou=People,ou=CITIUS,dc=inv,dc=usc,dc=es", filter="(&(objectClass=posixAccount)(uidNumber=4004))") nslcd: [8b4567] DEBUG: ldap_initialize(ldap://172.16.54.31/) nslcd: [8b4567] DEBUG: ldap_set_rebind_proc() nslcd: [8b4567] DEBUG: ldap_set_option(LDAP_OPT_PROTOCOL_VERSION,3) nslcd: [8b4567] DEBUG: ldap_set_option(LDAP_OPT_DEREF,0) nslcd: [8b4567] DEBUG: ldap_set_option(LDAP_OPT_TIMELIMIT,10) nslcd: [8b4567] DEBUG: ldap_set_option(LDAP_OPT_TIMEOUT,10) nslcd: [8b4567] DEBUG: ldap_set_option(LDAP_OPT_NETWORK_TIMEOUT,10) nslcd: [8b4567] DEBUG: ldap_set_option(LDAP_OPT_REFERRALS,LDAP_OPT_ON) nslcd: [8b4567] DEBUG: ldap_set_option(LDAP_OPT_RESTART,LDAP_OPT_ON) nslcd: [8b4567] DEBUG: ldap_simple_bind_s("uid=ubuntu,ou=Applications,ou=CITIUS,dc=inv,dc=usc,dc=es","*****") (uri="ldap://172.16.54.31/") nslcd: [8b4567] connected to LDAP server ldap://172.16.54.31/ nslcd: [8b4567] DEBUG: ldap_result(): end of results nslcd: [7b23c6] DEBUG: connection from pid=15906 uid=0 gid=2000 nslcd: [7b23c6] DEBUG: nslcd_pam_authc("jorge.suarez","","su","***") nslcd: [7b23c6] DEBUG: myldap_search(base="ou=People,ou=CITIUS,dc=inv,dc=usc,dc=es", filter="(&(objectClass=posixAccount)(uid=jorge.suarez))") nslcd: [7b23c6] DEBUG: ldap_initialize(ldap://172.16.54.31/) nslcd: [7b23c6] DEBUG: ldap_set_rebind_proc() nslcd: [7b23c6] DEBUG: ldap_set_option(LDAP_OPT_PROTOCOL_VERSION,3) nslcd: [7b23c6] DEBUG: ldap_set_option(LDAP_OPT_DEREF,0) nslcd: [7b23c6] DEBUG: ldap_set_option(LDAP_OPT_TIMELIMIT,10) nslcd: [7b23c6] DEBUG: ldap_set_option(LDAP_OPT_TIMEOUT,10) nslcd: [7b23c6] DEBUG: ldap_set_option(LDAP_OPT_NETWORK_TIMEOUT,10) nslcd: [7b23c6] DEBUG: ldap_set_option(LDAP_OPT_REFERRALS,LDAP_OPT_ON) nslcd: [7b23c6] DEBUG: ldap_set_option(LDAP_OPT_RESTART,LDAP_OPT_ON) nslcd: [7b23c6] DEBUG: ldap_simple_bind_s("uid=ubuntu,ou=Applications,ou=CITIUS,dc=inv,dc=usc,dc=es","*****") (uri="ldap://172.16.54.31/") nslcd: [7b23c6] connected to LDAP server ldap://172.16.54.31/ nslcd: [7b23c6] DEBUG: ldap_initialize(ldap://172.16.54.31/) nslcd: [7b23c6] DEBUG: ldap_set_rebind_proc() nslcd: [7b23c6] DEBUG: ldap_set_option(LDAP_OPT_PROTOCOL_VERSION,3) nslcd: [7b23c6] DEBUG: ldap_set_option(LDAP_OPT_DEREF,0) nslcd: [7b23c6] DEBUG: ldap_set_option(LDAP_OPT_TIMELIMIT,10) nslcd: [7b23c6] DEBUG: ldap_set_option(LDAP_OPT_TIMEOUT,10) nslcd: [7b23c6] DEBUG: ldap_set_option(LDAP_OPT_NETWORK_TIMEOUT,10) nslcd: [7b23c6] DEBUG: ldap_set_option(LDAP_OPT_REFERRALS,LDAP_OPT_ON) nslcd: [7b23c6] DEBUG: ldap_set_option(LDAP_OPT_RESTART,LDAP_OPT_ON) nslcd: [7b23c6] DEBUG: ldap_simple_bind_s("uid=jorge.suarez,ou=People,ou=CITIUS,dc=inv,dc=usc,dc=es","*****") (uri="ldap://172.16.54.31/") nslcd: [7b23c6] connected to LDAP server ldap://172.16.54.31/ nslcd: [7b23c6] DEBUG: myldap_search(base="uid=jorge.suarez,ou=People,ou=CITIUS,dc=inv,dc=usc,dc=es", filter="(objectClass=posixAccount)") nslcd: [7b23c6] DEBUG: ldap_unbind() nslcd: [3c9869] DEBUG: connection from pid=15906 uid=0 gid=2000 nslcd: [3c9869] DEBUG: nslcd_pam_sess_o("jorge.suarez","uid=jorge.suarez,ou=People,ou=CITIUS,dc=inv,dc=usc,dc=es","su","/dev/pts/7","","jorge.suarez") It seems to me that it won't even try to look for groups. • Solaris ldap Authentication

  • Secure ldap problem

Hi there, I have tried to config my openldap to have secure connection by using openssl on Debian5. By the way, I got trouble during the below command. ldap:/etc/ldap# slapd -h 'ldap:// ldaps://' -d1 >>> slap_listener(ldaps://) connection_get(15): got connid=7 connection_read(15): checking for input on id=7 connection_get(15): got connid=7 connection_read(15): checking for input on id=7 connection_get(15): got connid=7 connection_read(15): checking for input on id=7 connection_get(15): got connid=7 connection_read(15): checking for input on id=7 connection_read(15): unable to get TLS client DN, error=49 id=7 connection_get(15): got connid=7 connection_read(15): checking for input on id=7 ber_get_next ber_get_next on fd 15 failed errno=0 (Success) connection_closing: readying conn=7 sd=15 for close connection_close: conn=7 sd=15 Then I have search for "unable to get TLS client DN, error=49 id=7" but it seems no where has a good solution to this yet. Please help. Thanks # Well, I try to fix something to get it work but now I got this ldap:~# slapd -d 256 -f /etc/openldap/slapd.conf @(#) $OpenLDAP: slapd 2.4.11 (Nov 26 2009 09:17:06) $ root@SD6-Casa:/tmp/buildd/openldap-2.4.11/debian/build/servers/slapd could not stat config file "/etc/openldap/slapd.conf": No such file or directory (2) slapd stopped. connections_destroy: nothing to destroy. What should I do now? log : ldap:~# /etc/init.d/slapd start Starting OpenLDAP: slapd - failed. The operation failed but no output was produced. For hints on what went wrong please refer to the system's logfiles (e.g. /var/log/syslog) or try running the daemon in Debug mode like via "slapd -d 16383" (warning: this will create copious output). Below, you can find the command line options used by this script to run slapd. Do not forget to specify those options if you want to look to debugging output: slapd -h 'ldaps:///' -g openldap -u openldap -f /etc/ldap/slapd.conf ldap:~# tail /var/log/messages Feb 8 16:53:27 ldap kernel: [ 123.582757] intel8x0_measure_ac97_clock: measured 57614 usecs Feb 8 16:53:27 ldap kernel: [ 123.582801] intel8x0: measured clock 172041 rejected Feb 8 16:53:27 ldap kernel: [ 123.582825] intel8x0: clocking to 48000 Feb 8 16:53:27 ldap kernel: [ 131.469687] Adding 240932k swap on /dev/hda5.
