• Dolby Digital Live (DDL) on Asus Rampage II Gene (Creative X-Fi Extreme)

  Hi there, I have an Asus Rampage II Gene motherboard which has X-Fi extreme built in. I can get it to work with Windows 7 ok using the Creative drivers, however when I try and install the DDL/DTS add on pack from Creative I get the error message: "There are no supported audio device available. You need to close the application. Click OK to close the application now" I don't understand it because I have the Creative software installed ok and supporting the sound without any problems. In Device manager the audio device comes up as 'High definition audio device' and uses driver: 6.1.7600.16385 from Microsoft. I tried using the Creative drivers which show up as 'soundmax HD audio' however these do not allow any of the Creative products to run properly. Please can anyone offer any help? • What is the best memory supported by Asus Rampage Formula (1) motherboard

  I'm rebuilding a PC from old components I have and I want to know what are the best ram sticks for the Asus Rampage Formula (The first motherboard in the Rampage Formula range) According to the Asus website (HERE) the maximum supported memory is 8GB but when I search through the memory compatibility list there's nothing above 2046mb and the motherboard only supports single or dual-channel memory. Can anyone point me in the direction of a more comprehensive list of compatible memory? Or does anyone know where I can ask about memory compatibility? Note: As far as I know, this model motherboard is no longer in production.

• Asus Rampage III and Corsair DRAM Settings

  Recently I flashed the BIOS of my Asus Rampage III Extreme. But I lost the settings and now only 16GB out of 24GB of DRAM in the system is recognized. Does anyone has the correct DRAM setting for: 2 kits of cmz12gx3m3a1600c9 (Corsair Vengenance 12GB kit) on Asus Rampage III Extreme? Current I have 9-9-9-24 1N at 1.5v, but only 16GB is showing. I even tried to up the voltage to 1.65v, still no joy. Thank you in advance!

• Received a RAMPAGE IV FORMULA MOBO. Possible CPU Socket problems

  I recently received a Rampage IV Formula MOBO in a trade. From everything I read online this seems like a pretty nice piece of hardware. There's one thing I'm worried about though. It appears as though the socket where the CPU goes might have some bent/missing pins. I'm not exactly a computer expert and I wanted to know if this could be any sort of problem. I would post a picture but I apparently don't have enough rep for that... Also, if I did want to move my current rig onto the new MOBO would it even be worth it? MY CURRENT COMPUTER SPECS i3-3220 CPU 8GB DDR3 RAM GeForce GTX460 GPU With a Biostar MOBO!

• Writing email sniffer

  Hello, I am interested in writing an email sniffer that saves all emails sent via web based clients to hd, but I can't work out how to do this. How can I catch HTTPS mail before it is encrypted? I would really appriciate some useful info. I cannot find anything information on the web. There's a program called HTTP Analyzer V5 that does the exact thing I want to make. How should I start? If I make a packet sniffer, it's useless because all data is encrypted. Is there any other option?

  Halo, i am interest in methods, which http analyzer uses to capture data. I would like to write program which saves emails sent via web based clients. The problem is https and HTTP Analyzer solves it, but i dont know how. I got one interesting answer on my question before, but it doesnt reveal as much as i would like to know. Programs like HTTP Analyzer can catch the HTTPS data because they insert themselves in the HTTPS stack. As a result, they get the data after it's generated but before it's being encrypted and put in IP packets. This is highly non-trivial. How it is possible to make? If you have any interesting articles solving this issue, please let me know.

Ram Crossair 4 GB X 2 1666Mhz Motherboard Asus Rampage III Gene Video card: NVIDIA GeForce GT 240. 2 TB Seagate I have updated all drivers BIOS also. But my system showing only 2.99 GB out of 8GB usable RAM. Please help me fix this problem.

  Lately we had an idea with my Family of building a Super Computer from Scratch. So while we were planning on building our setup, one idea came to my head that it seems possible but i want also your opinions. Lets say that we have 2 ATX Motherboards and 1 MicroATX. Motherboard Setup: 1x ASUS Rampage Extreme Black Edition 1x Intel Core i7 4960x 4x GTX Titan 8x 8GB 1866 Ram Motherboard Setup: 1x SuperMicro X9DRG-QF 2x Intel Xeon E7-8890V2 1x nVIDIA QUADRO K6000 4x nVIDIA Tesla K40 128 GB 1866 Ram And imagine a Solid State Drive with a Switch connected to both of the MotherBoards Can i edit & copy all the data of The first motherboard's RAM to The Other's to be able to continue operating my current Operation System after switching the SSD to the Second Motherboard, from the Second MotherBoard and vice versa? Les say my "Switch Application" modifies everything the Kernel needs to believe nothing happend and continuing its operation from the same point the first motherboard stopped. (Changes on the Device List, CPU Cores, Drivers... etc)

• AMD chipset VS SLi

  Hello, I currently own a Crosshair 2 Formula which is broken and I need to replace. Recently, I bought a Phenom 2 CPU which I wouldn't like to throw away. Recent Crosshairs are based (as opposed to the Rampage series) on chipsets that are certified for AMD Crossfire. The problem is that I have 3 SLi cards I absolutely don't want to change with AMD card(s) since I use 3D Vision, and I need NVidia. If I buy a Crosshair 3 or 4 which is not SLi certified, will SLi still work? Else, could you suggest me a good gaming motherboard with AM3 socket and that works with 3-way SLi? Thank you in advance. • Centos repository packages vs latest developer release

  I have started to run a personal server using CentOS and I have noticed that many packages that are available to install from repository are old compared with the latest release from the developer. I know that installing packages from repository is very easy and I guess that the supplied versions are stable and prepared to work without any trouble, but I still find odd having so much software that lags behind the current version. It's my first time with linux and I don't know what is the "normal" thing, should I stick to whatever version the repository supplies, or try to get the latest from the developer? To be more precisely, the repository supplies the apache httpd web server with version 2.2, I wanted to update to 2.4, so I started removing apache and its dependencies packages that come with centos to use the latest ones, but when I was about to remove pcre v6 to replace it with v8, i found out that 132 installed packages depend on it and probably it is not a good idea to remove it, so that made me think twice about getting the latest software instead of using the packages supplied by the official repositories. Should I leave things as they are instead of going on an upgrade rampage? Thanks

• quad sli with gtx 690 not working

  I have two cards GTX 690 (dual core). I did the Sli successfully. Nvidia control panel acknowledges the two cards as quad Sli. However, the problem is that Windows 7 64-bit Ultimate is showing me the graph memory size as 4 GB while it is supposed to be 8 GB because of the Sli. Also the benchmark from all software is giving me a very low score compared to some other guy's benchmark on YouTube. It gives me a big headache. Does anyone know why this is happening? If so, how can I get Windows 7 to recognize all 8 GB of memory? Thanks for your help in advance. My computer specifications: (Processor: Intel Core i7-3930k @3.2GHz(12CPUs))--- (Memory: 65536 MB Ram 1866 MHz)-- (OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit)-- (OCZ 240GB as SSD PCIe drive for booting and storage disk)-- (DirextX version: DirectX 11)-- (VGA Card: 2 X EVGA GTX 690 Dual GPU. Each GPU is 2 GB, so total memory should be 8 GB.)-- (MotherBoard: ASUS Rampage IV Extreme)-- Others with lesser specifications get a 2500 score in heaven benchmark while I get 1501 as if it is one card.

• Paypal Sandbox 2014 Non US test account Sign Up proper link

  Ok I had a Paypal Sandbox account a year ago. I am developing a new site for a client and when I try to Login it won't recognize my email address. I tried forgot my password forgot password still nothing. So I guessed that maybe due to inactivity for such a long time they may have deleted my account. So then I try to Sign Up for a new one. I entered my details 3 times now and spent 6 hours trying to figure out what is the proper link to do this. Then I went to another Sandbox link which required me to entered a US Zip code and its a dead end. I am not even sure which Paypal account I signed up for those three times. No email nothing at all. I am a Non US developer and the FAQ link for Non US developers just points to their REST API. Can someone please guide me to the proper Paypal Sandbox Setup for Non US developers including the proper sign up links please. And I know Stackoverflow does not like rants but from my experience dealing with Paypal, GTA 6 should make a satirical Paypal company in their next Game with Paypal Developer Rampage mode for the main protagonist who also happens to be a Developer. EDIT: REST API does not include UK :(

• Nginx alias or rewrite for Horde Groupware ActiveSync URL does not process the rpc.php file

  I'm trying to setup a Horde groupware with Nginx. The webinterface works but I do not get the ActiveSync specific URL to work. The Horde Wiki explains how to use it with an Apache Webserver here. My problem is, that I setup a rewrite (tried an alias too) to serve the location /horde/Microsoft-Server-ActiveSync via the /horde/rpc.php script. But with my current configuration nginx does the rewrite and returns a 200 status code. But it looks like that the php file is not executed. If I go to /horde/rpc.php directly it opens up the login dialog. So this seems to work correct. Firstly I was googling about the problem but could not find a working solution. So now I would like to ask you. The configuration should allow to access the ActiveSync part via the URL /horde/Microsoft-Server-ActiveSync. The horde webinterface is already accessible via /horde.
