• Is PO Box on resume to get a call okay?

  Hello folks! Personally I've applied to quiet a handful of IT admin jobs inside my state and to the ones that are way far away. The sad part is I never miss to get an interview with the jobs in my state, but get a call once in a blue moon from jobs out of my state. Note: All the jobs are of similar nature. Recently one of my friends told me that "Applicants with local addresses are the ones that are even looked upon". How true is this? Does filtering take place at address level before qualifications? Is using a PO box on resume acceptable [one for each state like CA, TX, VA]? Any other suggestions to get calls from out of state? Thank you :) [wiki]

  Do admins get to meet a lot of new people on a daily basis at work? And what kind of people domain do they interact with? Secondly, I've had this myth for a long time that unlike programmers, Network/System/Security Admins get locked-up in a den and juiced up late nights and early mornings. Most of the time they had to slip out of work without being noticed. How true and often does this happen for you? I understand there is no specific answer to this question as it depends on the type of working organization. But just looking out for answers from your experience.   Well, I've heard programmers get to interact with other programmers quiet a lot. But, who gets to meet a lot of new people on a daily basis at work without getting the feeling "Goosh! I'm stuck with him/this for another year :(" - Admins or Coders? And what kind of people domain do each get to interact with? Secondly, I've had this myth for a long time that unlike programmers, Network/System/Security Admins get locked-up in a den and juiced up late nights and early mornings. Most of the time they had to slip out of work without being noticed. But recently one of my seniors from my grad school told he had to work late and on weekends for a product release. How true and often does this happen with programmers and admins?
