  • Incomplete results with Turkish characters in Indexing Service

    Finally I get to post my i's and I's as promised... I've found that MS Indexing Service returns incomplete results when searching for documents with Turkish content. It seems to choke especially regarding the (incorrectly-named) 4I problem. Apparently, MS has fixed this problem with a Windows 2000 http://support.microsoft.com/kb/325333 service pack, but the bug seems to be resurrected with Windows XP & 2003. Anybody uses Indexing Service in their line of work? Similar problems with other non-English locales? Any solutions?

  • Windows 7 Turkish language pack problem

    I have Windows 7 Ultimate RTM (7600) installed on my laptop. I installed the Turkish language pack from Windows Update but some texts like "Welcome" "Shutting Down" and "Starting Windows" are still in English, but the others are translated into Turkish correctly. Did anyone face with this problem?

    Go ahead, laugh. I forgot to remove the default admin/admin account on my blog. SOmebody got in and has replaced my homepage with some internet graffiti. I've used .htaccess to replace the page with a 403 error, but no matter what I do, my wordpress homepage is this hacker thing. How can I setup my server so that ONLY MYSELF can view it while I'm fixing this via .htaccess? What steps should I take to eradicate them from my server? If I delete the ENTIRE website and change all the passwords, is he completely gone? Thanks.

  • mysql utf8 turkish characters not correct recognized

    Hello, In mysql utf8 coded turkish data i can't search "I" and "i". when i search its giving result contains "Y" or "y". Because in latin1 "I" displaying as "Ý" and "i" as "ý". in latin1 data i was used latin1_general_ci for correct result. but there is not alternative collation for utf8. its already utf8_general_ci. is there any other people have some problems or do you have a solution. thanks. i have tried stackoverflow search engine to for this problem. if its have mysql and utf8 then my work true. try search "alI" and "ali". both search give another result. but both same in turkish. the "I" is capital i and capital "I" is "i" in turkish.

    I am parsing an html content and have output on my screen. This website have Turkish characters such as çÇsSöÖgGiIüÜ. I am not able to show them as proper characters, they are printed out as question marks yet. Eclipse - Project - Properties - Resource - Text File Encoding = Inherited from container (Cp1254) I searched web and found this solution: Eclipse - Project - Properties - Resource - Text File Encoding = Other: UTF-8 However, it's not working.   • Mysql latin1 turkish data and delphi 2010 utf8

    Hello, I have tables collating latin1_general_ci and have turkish character values. And i can use this data on delphi 7+zeos with no problem. but i want to upgrade my delphi to 2010 version but zeos too slow as i saw. so i want to use odbc+ado or dbexpress solution. dbexpress solution works fine , display my data as entered and write as entered table without any change to column charset. but dbexpress has problems as i saw. for example when i select * from table which has column types as varchar,decimal,int,tinyint,text give av errors on xp systems. vista and 7 does not give any error and work fine(not fully tested). ado solution(dbgo) works fine but its not show my data as entered.its want everything be utf. but i don't want to convert my data to utf before test everything. how can i see my data as entered and write client side utf and store latin1(as zeos or dbexpress do). i was tried many other options. eg. mysql side collation and charset parameters. sorry for my bad english. i hope someone understand me. thanks.

  • How do I override Currency symbols in Java?

    I'm trying to print prices in Turkish Liras (ISO 4217 currency code TRY) with Java. When I do Currency curr = Currency.getInstance("TRY"); Locale trLocale = new Locale("tr", "TR"); System.out.println(curr.getSymbol(trLocale)); the output is: "YTL". However, the currency symbol for Turkish Lira has recently changed from "YTL" to "TL" (as can be seen on the Wikipedia page for Turkish Lira). Formatting with NumberFormat gives a similar result. I really don't want to write yet another Currency class, especially when Java has one built-in. Is there a way to override Java's default currency symbol for TRY to "TL"?

  • Sony Vaio: I can't type 'less and greater than' signs in TR keyboard layout

    I have a strange trouble with my Sony Vaio VPCCW21FX. My laptop has a Turkish Q keyboard and I'm using TR keyboard layout on Windows 7 x64 Home Premium. The problem is, I cannot find a usual way to type less than or greater than signs unless I switch to EN keyboard layout. These signs are showed on the keyboard together with the Turkish letters "Ö" and "Ç", as you can see from the below photo of my laptop's keyboard. So, how can I type these signs without switching to EN keyboard layout? I tried Fn and Alt keys but it doesn't work. I need to use TR layout since I need Turkish letters while writing my documents and e-mails.

  • Warm Reception By Partners at EMEA Manageability Forum

    For the EMEA Partners that were able to attend the event in Istanbul Turkey, thank you for your attendance and feedback at the event. As you can see, the weather kept most of inside during the event and at times there was even some snow.  And while it may have been chilly outside, there was a warm reception from Partners who traveled from all over EMEA to hear from other Oracle Specialized Partners and subject matter experts about the opportunities and benefits of Oracle Enterprise Manager and Exadata Specialization. Here you can see David Robo, Oracle Technology Director for Manageability kicking off the event followed later by Patrick Rood, Oracle Indirect Manageability Business. A special thank you to all the Partner speakers including Ron Tolido, VP and CTO of Application Services Continental Europe Capgemini, who delivered a very innovative keynote where many in attendance learned that Black Swans do exist. And while at break, interactivity among partners continued and it was great to see such innovative partners who had listed their achieved specializations on their business cards. Here we can see Oracle Enterprise Manager customer, Turkish Oracle User Group board member and Blogger Gokhan Atil sharing his product experiences with others attending. I don't think the problem appears while I set the value but maybe with pack() function. Any ideas to solve this without replacing characters with English?
