• s3fs Input/output error

  i'm trying to set up a backup system with s3fs and the amazon s3 service. i followed this 2 guides: http://qugstart.com/blog/linux/how-to-mount-an-amazon-s3-bucket-as-virtual-drive-on-centos-5-2/ http://blog.eberly.org/2008/10/27/how-i-automated-my-backups-to-amazon-s3-using-rsync/ anyway making a tail to the /var/log/messages i get: Aug 28 13:37:46 server s3fs:###response=403 i already tried creating the authentication file on /etc/passwd-s3fs and setting there the access and private key, passing it trough the command line, i checked several times the credentials and i used it with s3fox, and is working. i also have set the time of the machine (with the date command) to be the same as the amazon S3 servers (i got the time of the S3 server uploading a file with the file manager) not only rsync don't work, commands like ls or cp in the /mnt/s3 didn't work also. any help of how i can solve/debug this? • Force10 S4810 "Overlapping route for management interface"

  We just got in a pair of Force10 S4810s and are getting tripped up on what should be a very basic configuration step. The S4810 has a gigabit copper management port (though ultimately we'd like to not use that and just trunk in a management vlan). We followed the configuration commands verbatim from a rapid config guide and keep getting a weird error.   Installed SharePoint Services v3 (SP2, october 2009 cumulative updates, Language Pack), attached to a content database I had previously (all works). Installed Search server 2008 Express (with language pack) on top of WSS and crawl does not work. However it works for newly created web application + database. Was playing around with accounts, permissions to try get it working. Currently I have WSS_Crawler account with such permissions: Office Search Server runs with WSS_Crawler account Config database has read permissions for WSS_Crawler Content database has read permissions for WSS_Crawler WSS_Crawler is owner of search database. Added WSS_Crawler to SQL server browser user group and administrator Yes, i'v given more permissions than needed, but it doesn't even work with that and i don't know if its permission problem or what. Crawl log says there is Error in the Site Data Web Service., nothing more. There were known issues with a similar error: Error in the Site Data Web Service. (Value does not fall within the expected range.), but this is not the case as thats an old issue and i hope it has been included in SP2... Logs are from olders to newest (descending order). • Web site not responding

  I have website working fine before. But now its not able to connect to the server(I believe that is the problem). But its strange that the message not able to connect to the server is not coming and its keep connecting... for infinite time. Here is the screenshot.   Installed Solr on my Windows XP PC. Tomcat seems to be working fine. Cannot get Solr to work. I noticed the TrieDateField is declared in a file called schema.xml in the SolrHome directory. • "Error encountered while BER decoding" in Adobe Acrobat Pro X when applying timestamp

  I have a tedious problem with Acrobat Pro X 10.1.3.23: when I want to apply a timestamp to a document I always get that error. I have configured VeriSign TSA server http://timestamp.verisign.com/scripts/timstamp.dll and it returns that error. I have tried Comodo CA http://timestamp.comodoca.com/authenticode and Aruba https://servizi.arubapec.it/tsa/ngrequest.php but all three returned the same exact error. My PDFs are now signed without a certified timestamp and this is a problem for me. I'm obliged to sign documents and apply a certified timestamp at the same time. This seems to be a common error in Acrobat, but I found no solution to it. Can somebody help me?

• Outlook 2007 unable to connect to exchange server

  I came into the office a week ago and outlook has refused to connect ever since, it just says "Disconnected" in the bottom right-hand corner. I've tried restarting it, rebooting Windows etc. I'm the only one if our office who is having this problem, so it's not a general problem with the server. Things I've tried Pinging the server via IP address and host name, both work fine Connecting via OWA, this works using the same machine name Connecting to Exchange via HTTP ("Outlook Anywhere") doesn't work None of the suggestions in this question helped, http://serverfault.com/questions/21755/can-ping-exchange-server-cant-connect-outlook-to-it Disabling Windows firewall on my laptop also has no effect. There are no items in the event viewer that indicate that anything it up. Also no permissions have changed on the server since when it worked. What else can I do to diagnose this, any suggestions?

I've read lits of stuff like http://www.eggheadcafe.com/software/aspnet/35692526/question-multiple-row-in.aspx, and http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/data/library/tips/dm-0403wilkins/ and tricks like ALTER TABLE lalala APPEND ON works somewhat (the difference between a dd if=/dev/zero and insert is still a factor 10) but I would like to be able to find the counters or other performance indicators that actually show why it makes sense to use those tricks. For example: What is the metric called that shows me that it is buffer pages allocation (FSCR stuff) that is the problem Where do I see that the insert time is hampered by clustered indexes? I find db2top very useful but im still searching for more direct view of "this is your bottleneck" methods

  I'm using a couple of rewrite directives that always works before on apache2 but now i'm trying new a shared hosting and the rewrite rules do not seem to get applied. I've reduced the .htaccess files to the following essential rules: RewriteEngine On Rewritebase /demo/ RewriteRule ^(.*)$ index.php/$1 [L] As you can see, i want to rewrite every request to my index.php file in the demo folder from root. So everything like http://www.example.com/demo/albums/show/1 should be processed by http://www.example.com/demo/index.php for a standard MVC setup. (I'm using CodeIgniter btw) The directives above results in a 500 error, so i thought maybe because of some possible syntax differences between 1.3 and 2.x. After some trail and error editing, i've found the rewrite rule itself to be at fault but i really don't understand why. Any ideas to why my rewrite rule doesn't work? it did before on lots of different servers. Suggestions how to fix it? Note: mod_rewrite does work, i've written a small test to be sure

  I have an IIS7.5 (Server 2008 R2) based web service that I would like to make as independant on the current implementations technology as possible. I am using the URL rewrite module (http://learn.iis.net/page.aspx/734/url-rewrite-module/) to remove the .asmx portion of the URL and that is working fine for the HTTP request portion. However, I still see .asmx in the WSDL file when I access it. I was wondering if anyone has done this and if so, what advice could be offered. It doesn't seem like a hard problem to solve. But I have tries a number of things with "custom tags" and can't seem to get it working to save my life.

I did enable to SNMP service at DD-WRT router page. And also created a host at Zabbix with included DD-WRT template. After I done it I still unable to get any connection/information at Zabbix which mean the router doesn't communicate with Zabbix. • High Tq values for HAProxy

  I just took over administration of a new environment. A known issue is that the environment is known for high response times (20+ seconds), so I figured I'd turn on haproxy logging and see what is going on. I figured I'd see slow load times in the app servers, but I'm actually seeing high Tq values in HAProxy. The HAProxy is on EC2 and is NOT behind ELB. Not all the Tq's are high (1+ seconds), but a good percentage of them are (approx 35%). Normally when I see this behavior, I'd expect there to be network issues, but this is an incredibly high percentage of visitors to be having an issue like this, so I'm wondering if anybody has seen this or have any hints on diagnosing if the issue could possibly be on this box?

• IIS6 Log time recording problems

  On three separate occasions on two separate servers at nearly the same times, 6.9 hours seemingly went by without any data being written to the IIS logs, but, on closer inspection, it appears that it was all recorded all at once. Here's the facts as I know them: Windows Server 2003 R2 w/ IIS6 Logging using GMT, server local time GMT-7. Application was still operating and I have SQL data to prove that Time gaps appear in log file, not across two # headers appear at gap Load balancer pings every 30 seconds No caching Here's info on a particular case: an entry appears for 2009-09-21 18:09:27 then #headers the next entry is for 2009-09-22 01:21:54, and so are the next 1600 entries in this log file and 370 in the next log file. about half of the ~2000 entries on 2009-09-22 01:21:54 are load balancer pings (est. at 2/min for 6.9hrs = 828 pings) then entries are recorded as normal. I believe that these events may coincide with me deploying an ASP.NET application update into those machines. Also note that /ping.aspx returned 404 then switched to 200 just as the problem started. I rename the "I'm alive page" so the load balancer stops sending requests to the server while I'm working on it. What you see here is me renaming it back so the load balancer will use the server. So, this problem definitely coincides with me re-enabling the server. Any ideas?
